No, but numerous times in the past DLC commanders have. Hell, DLC commanders still give major advantages. Just look at how often Fortifications was used as OKW in the most recent 1v1 tournament. Not to mention the abominations of old - Tiger Ace/Windustry. If you build it they will come. Relic hasn't built it. +1 CoH 2 has a lot of potential but there are too many things holding it back at the moment. Maybe one day after Relic gets rid of constant 1 shot squad wipes, batshit overpowered units (KT, Tiger, Tiger Ace, Obers, IS 2), skill planes, fixes call-ins, fixes Soviet & Wehr faction design... oh boy I don't even want to keep going. Glory and bragging rights only go so far, and only to some. Cash amd real prizes is a language just about everyone speaks. The coh2.org Alienware tourney was roaring success far as I am concerned. No ESL tourney however has even registered to me. I camt even imagine who would organize/promote/stream/host/commentate it. I come up completely empty at even the thought of it. No idea how it could practically even happen. Consider this, if someone offers 1 million for winning a coh2 tournament, would it not suddenly become extremely "competetive"? Some people are confusing the term "competetive" to mean things which it does not. False. The SSBM community competed for years for significantly smaller prizes than CoH 2 has had and literally negative developer support. And look at them now. Still breaking records. The SSB/fighting game community in general is just awesome. Unfortunately I don't think the CoH 2 community has the drive or willpower to become an e-Sport or even a truly competitive game in the way SC2/DoTA/LoL/HS/CS have been. Throwing money at the problem as been tried numerous times, and it doesn't work. The community has to want it. This one, as IpKai has correctly pointed out, simply does not. It is sad. The fact that you think the Alienware tournament was a success is a joke. That was probably the worst tournament this game has ever had. I certainly can't think of a worse one anyways. In: Lobby

If this is an online-only league it's going to be completely pointless. To be fair, LAN finals WOULD be sweet. It would motivate me to practice my heart out to qualify. Sadly... I'm not holding my breath. From the little I have heard about Relic's deal with ESL, I don't think LAN finals would be possible. Also, $18,000 would dwindle pretty fast in terms of a prize pool if people are having to be flown from around the world to Vancouver (or wherever they'd host it). Jesulin - Spain Luvnest - Germany Twister - France? Or something... I can never keep track of Twister Giap - Vietnam Hans - Japan now (hopefully Hans would have time to participate) Point being... Relic would have to pay a pretty penny to fly even the top 4 qualifiers from around the world to Vancouver. Sega does have connections and deep pockets, so maybe it is possible. It would be my dream come true to have a LAN coh2 tourney though... In: Lobby

Cons become a 7 men squad with vet 2. Why not? Soviets compensate their inferiority with superior numbers is the main idea behind Sov faction in coh2 if I get it right. Yeah a 7th guy could be pretty cool. Maybe a 7th guy and give them a slightly stronger survival buff at vet 3 so that they can actually hold the line while other Soviet units do the real work? I'd be interested in testing out something like that. Although a 7th man, plus an Ober nerf might be fine as well. In: COH2 Gameplay

The worst Lmg ever exists in coh , as long as LMG unlocked by soviet T3 Or T4, there will be no con blob I think it is more of "What can we do to make Cons better while also being unique." As others have already said in the thread, there are already too many LMGs in the game. Do we really want another unit to just stand still in green cover with an LMG upgrade late game? Sure maybe giving them 1-2 DPs would make them stronger, but it also doesn't really contribute to the diversifying the game in any meaningful fashion. It'd be yet another no-brainer upgrade because it is a strict increase in squad performance that everyone always gets... pretty much like the LMG42 is now. I'd just rather see a cooler way to improve Cons. Plus infantry weapon upgrades have always been a huge pain in the ass to balance... and they still are. Most of the infantry combat problems in CoH 2 are still related to weapon upgrades. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Will cons get a lmg upgrade in the next patch?1 Feb 2015, 21:16 PM I'd prefer baseline PPSh, or maybe a slight buff to their vet 3 since they have the same bonuses as Grens vet wise, but no access to LMGs. Overall I think Cons are in a good place though. They're great against Volks (till vet 4/5) and Grens until vet 3 + LMG. They're kinda trash vs Obers but Obers are just stupidly strong and need to be brought into line with other squads. In: COH2 Gameplay

It was Hitler's way. Poland even wanted to attack Germany with France but France wanted to sit behind their line and do nothing. For years he was talking about peace in Europe and stuff like that. Everything he did was for one purpose, and it was not peace or alliance between Poland and Germany. I think a lot of it has to do with the entire process that patches have to go through before they can be pushed out. Cruzz making his own mod is free to make whatever changes he wants, whenever he wants. He doesn't have to go through red tape/bureaucracy in order to get a change through. He also doesn't have to justify his balance ideas to anyone except himself, because it is his mod. As far as I understand, Relic's patches have to go through a much more rigorous process before they can even start testing proposed changes these days. And of course any major changes to unit behavior have to fall within the scope of Relic's faction design. (I could misunderstand some of Relic's processes though, obviously I don't have first-hand experience with them.) Personally I wished Relic would patch more frequently and be more open with their communication. I also with the balance team had more freedom. I prefer the gut instinct approach to balance that Cruzz seems to take (or maybe it'd just be too hard for him to actually test most changes since he's one dude) but I feel like Relic favors looking at balance from a completely statistical standpoint, unfortunately.
