He has less than 1% drops/disputes from my rough mental math. Doesn't really seem like a drop hacker, unless he has a way around the whole dispute process now that battle servers are a thing. Seems unlikely though.
Sync error would be the most suspicious imo. But even that won't work out for a potential cheater in the long run.
Sounds like bad luck tonight on your part =/

Post from phone. I agree with Ami. Tourney needs to be seeded based on last weekends tourney and seeds should not reset. Have a newbie league with no prize support for the first two or three tournaments that a player plays in if they don't want to play against the top dogs. Potentially skewing the results of a prize based tournament so that new players won't get knocked out by the best is silly... I love new players and want to do everything to help them come into the community but joining a tournament with a prize pool and expecting to not have to play against the best is naive. It'd be like me going to a local chess tourney and then whining when I play a master or grandmaster in the first round. Seeds or bust imo. In: Events Central |
Thread: British Forces30 Dec 2015, 17:28 PM
You're crazy plexy. The UC is way worse than the 222. Easily the most useless light vehicle in the game per cost. Well maybe the us jeep thing is worse. It is marginally okay at keeping a kubel at bay but even then it is useless once the first schreck pops and you can't repair it early like OKW can. On super building heavy maps you sometimes need the flames though. IS and vickers are fine, just hard to work with so few units early on. Early map control can be a pain with such a stagnant force, I say stagnant because they rely so heavily on green cover to be efficient. Sniper is still great. Vet 1 gives you a crazy long range vehicle snare backed up by what is probably the best AT gun in the game. Engineers are... Well they can sweep and plant mines and cap. Mortar pit is okayish on the right maps but it is hard to find 400 manpower to squeeze into a stationary building a lot of the time. Especially when you need a sniper and AT so early in so many cases. Can be the key to a good mid game though, sometimes I find myself floating between my second at gun and my first tank and I don't always want to invest in a 4th IS. Even three can be heavily draining to maintain. All brit tanks are good, the comet is probably the single best tank in the game. It is good against everything with disgusting mobility, great frontal armor and good hp. Can be hard to get this far though, but cromwells are still potent. I think one of the keys is forcing yourself to play a slower game. Be more deliberate. Pick your half the map and camp it till your army meshes together. Make your opponent attack into your green cover where IS dominate everything. Still... Brits are a little weak this patch. They're in an awkward area where old OKW was. Weak early game but utterly dominant late game. In: COH2 Balance |
Thread: [Relic blog] Game Balance: The State of 1v1 for ESL29 Dec 2015, 15:33 PM
Everyone's opinion on how fun/enjoyable the game is matters. Everyone's ideas on how to fix the game matter, unless they're insane. Everyone's opinions matter but Relic has no responsibility to incorporate all our opinions into their game. Not everyone's win/loss statistics matter when it comes to estimating the current state of balance. That isn't to say that lower ranked players don't matter, just that you have to balance from the top down. Looking at the win/loss statistics of the upper echelon of players is going to provide a more accurate representation of the current state of balance. In: COH2 Balance |

Congrats to Hans and Tofu for winning EU/NA. Some really fun games to watch, some great play. My biggest concern, probably to no surprise, is the timing issues. Spectators don't want to have to sit around for significant periods of time between matches and participants get bored as well. Having to devote upwards of 10 hours every Sunday for months on end to win $100 a week isn't worth it. Tons of players won't be able to commit to this sort of schedule and many more will get burned out after the first month. My other concern is that this is just too many small tournaments back to back to back for our small community. I think we would be better off having a big event every few months and then a few smaller events in-between to keep things rolling. Weekly cups might work for a community like Hearthstone where the top players are going to be traveling to big events, giving other players a chance to make a name for themselves during the weekly events... but for us... I just see people getting burnt out and wanting something new - or even a break from the tournament grind - because 10+ hours per Sunday of waiting/playing week in and week out is a grind, not a competition. Thread: Upgrade to GTX 980Ti - COH2 crashes PC 28 Dec 2015, 04:50 AM
Only skimmed through the thread but... Have you checked event logs after your computer power cycles? Have anything in place monitoring the heat in various parts of your rig? Maybe your GPU is running hot? Faulty fan or something like that? Too lazy to look up the PSU stuff and with a rig like that I doubt you have a PSU that cannot handle the new card, but figured I might as well ask. Maybe throw down a small partition (I assume you have the drive space) throw win7 on and try coh2 on Win7 with all the same hardware? |

Whoa slow down buddy, don't take everything so personally. I just thought that there was a significantly easier way of saying what you were trying to say. But apparently I only think that cuz I'm a retarded asshole. Which, while we're on the subject, I'll go ahead and thank you for throwing in completely unprovoked and unnecessary ad hominem. (Just goes to show your true character though.) Back on topic, it's pretty obvious that OKW is over performing by a wide margin. Hopefully Relic will address it soon, I'd hate for any future tournaments/events to be tarnished by a patch with such a poor state of balance. Here's to hoping they patch again soon instead of waiting a month or two to see what shakes out. No one wants to spend the next month or two dealing with unstoppable schreck volk blobs or 5 min luchs or kubels on your cutoff in the first 40 seconds of the game. In: COH2 Balance |

Uh... wat...? Are those even coherent sentences? I think I get what you're saying, but wow. That wording though. Why not just say that these graphs do not account for the high likelihood that the vast majority of these matches were played between players with a significant skill gap, therefore the data should be taken with a grain of salt. Anyways, I don't think anyone can defend the fact that OKW is vastly over performing this patch. Most of us could tell this was going to be the case just from reading patch notes. In: COH2 Balance |

You have a lot of influence over the Panther hitting/missing the IS2. You have a lot of influence over the penetration chance of your Panther against the IS2. These are variables that a good player can optimize try and sway RNG in their favor. It's like poker. You're not going to win every hand triple betting into the flop with suited AK but you have a damn good chance against most hands. And even post flop you get to calculate/estimate your odds of winning based on the information at hand. Sure even the "right" decision mathematically can get you burned, but there is a reason that top poker players consistently place in the money in large tournaments. This kind of RNG is what makes a game good/compelling and is what could make CoH 2 the best RTS on the market. But how many poker players do you think would keep playing if there was just an arbitrary 5% chance to lose a winning hand for no reason other than "LOL SRY BOIS RNG Kappa Kappa MVGame FailFish" There is already way too much detrimental RNG still in the game and way too many retarded units/abilities (goliath, demo charge, howitzers, skill strafes). We don't need more just because "HEY GUYS ITS SO COOL AND TELLS A STORY" In: COH2 Gameplay |
