Thread: Sick/bored of MG42 -.-13 Sep 2013, 10:01 AM I don't even understand all this cries for "better MG42"s. Even a pure Grenadier opening is super strong and a Soviet anticipating MG42 and opening scout cars will always lose against that and even if you open Conscript spam against that, you have to be super slick with your timings and the read on your enemy. Depends, if OH controls a single fuel point, the room to nagivate for the T70 is maybe a minute or two. If he uses Opels or builds a fuel cache you must skip out on T70 and go directly to T-34 and then get a good engagement with guards + mark tarket + ram when the German is stupid as usual and overextends his PzIV. If he isn't stupid, good luck and may god have mercy on your soul. Also, if OH controls one ammo point or an ammo cache or an Opel Truck, he will almost always have Panzershrecks. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: ZiS-3 vs Pak-4011 Sep 2013, 11:04 AM They didn't make paks more accurate this patch, so they're still useless. OH pak shoots faster so bad accuracy is less of a killer but Zis-26 can just be straight driven into and around by PzIVs and Oswtwinds. In: COH2 Balance

The winter effects are nice but the deep snow especially slows down the action too much and should be used very sparingly. Well, that's kinda the point, isn't it? Maybe heavy snow would be better if it worked more like hedges, except that you can cross it (with penalty). Right now it's always "in the way." Funny that noone thinks about it this way when they see hedges and stuff blocking their movement. Guess it is more natural. In: COH2 Gameplay

I found that with the (already prior to this patch) MP costs you end up in late-game situations where you either wait a lot of time to float the MP for "that one tank" or pull in two infantry squads. With the way the game flows, decision is almost always more infantry. Higher MP will make the tanks less seen in smaller battles, and it was never the fuel that prevented one from teching up. Considering there are zero fuel sinks in the game besides tanks (with T2 being universally useless once tanks hit), the only real cost^tm determining factor of a tank is the MP. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Sick/bored of MG42 -.-10 Sep 2013, 11:13 AM Jump back to quoted post9 Sep 2013, 14:15 PMJohanSchwarz It's not that hard to flank an MG42, On some maps it is excessively hard to flank MG42s, and 360 degree cover fire inside buildings, coupled with near immunity to everything that hasn't the word "flame" in it and instant supression makes flanking very hard to pull of against anyone who has played more than 10 games with germans. So no, flanking an MG42 is a problem. I am a bit amazed how you arrived at your conclusion, it is like you don't even play the game. I have given up on playing the game until the MG42 situation resolved, because it is quite simply more frustrating than fun to play the game right now. I have met several people on ladder that quit instantly vs. me when they saw my first MG42 marching up. I asked them why they quit afterwards: "No sense playing vs. MG42" is what they told me. I like the idea of reducing the MG42 to a maxim with slightly broader arc. Well, I made that suggestion a couple of weeks ago, so this isn't exactly suprising. In: COH2 Balance
