1v1 2v2 should be the core mode to balance. |
Personally I don't really mind grens that much, my biggest pet peeve with this patch is how strong units that wield mp 40s are. It forces you to go t1 or die and that is a huge flaw imho. |
Why is this a waste? You were going to spend those resources on something and you still end up with good general purpose combat units. If by waste you mean "I can't do a 5 conscript opening into T34/85s" then okay, I see your point, but otherwise seems a bit silly. As Soviets I always open up with T1+penals and an M3 this patch and it works great, massively more so if I am facing pio spam. Watch me sit on your cutoff after completely pushing you off the field.
On topic: Yes, remove extra range from vet and reduce range while suppressed. Problem solved.
Because it isn't cost effective especially when your opponent techs up to t2 at the right moment and gets a scout car. It also pigeon holes you to a specific tier in order to counter it. This is just another high light of the soviet design flaw. There should be counters in both t1 and t2 not t1 and cons shouldn't be so weak in the first place. |

Just build penals and scout cars, it's not hard at all.
If your enemy has a blob of pios just pick them off from a distance with a scout car, maybe even put some conscripts in the scout car, I heard that's effective too. The pio blob can't do shit because you can just micro it away from them when they try to get close to you. Or get penals and just close in on them since penals are really good at close range.
I mean, this is just basic logic.
FYI I play Soviets way more than Germans. (it's gotten quite bad when I have to say this everytime I try to make a point about something)
That there en lies the problem, why should the soviet player have to waste time and resources to counter a t0 200mp unit? 150mp + 50fuel for t1 then another 40seconds to build it and then another 270mp or 230mp + 5fuel and another 30-40 seconds to wait for the unit. Using gimmicky starts to beat spam is ridiculous. |
The opinion of a guy calling himself the Red bear/Soviet bear with the national symbol of Russia (a bear) wearing a Russian cap on a picture resembling an old Soviet propaganda poster is definitely totally unbiased and more trustworthy.
Anyhow, it would be cool to have a SU-100 and ISU-122 in the game. But then again, I won´t have them as I don´t buy extra commanders.
I am going off the limb to say you're an American you like the Whermatch/SS everything you know about ww2 is from cod/coh and you probably rarely if ever played the soviets.

Pio/assgren spam isn't game breaking, it's one of the easiest German strats to beat.
Give me a replay of you beating pio spam, and then one of you beating agren spam , and I will retract my previous statement. |
i am trolling. you however have no clue how to balance this game. suffice to say you need to come up with better arguments why the riflenade should cease to be a counter to the maxims except that maxims should not be countered from the front while conveniently forgetting that the maxim in the hands of person with a tiny bit of micro you always be facing it from the front.
On a larger view of things .You empower the maxim to point that maxim spam become completely viable again and completely wreck the early game balance.

Meanwhile the western allies achieved the same by loosing much less men. All this disrespect for the individual that the Soviets had - it might won them the war, but I really don´t think treating your men like ants is cool.

Well, that´s highly subjective then as I find every T-34 version ugly as shit. The turret belongs into the middle of a vehicle, goddammit! ^^
Anyhow, all games with asymmetrical faction design focus on higher numbers on one faction and the higher quality units on the other one. I´ve always been a player who preferred the latter. I just don´t like the "throw away your stuff" mentality Soviets pursued.
