I prefer GMGGS tbh. The two 1v1 maps revolve around locking down the central area, so the early MG really helps out. By the time they notice your MG set up, your sniper will probably be 1/3rd of the way done building, so it'll be out to counter the mortar/sniper that they'll end up building. |

Kholodny with equidistant VPs, better resource placement, removal of most heavy snow, no blizzards and no random blind spot in the church facing the center would be decent.
Pripyat is beyond saving for any kind of competitive play to be honest.

Currently the maps are awful. Kholodny is pretty annoying simply because of it being 25% blizzards, killing the dynamics. If it were a summer map, it would be awesome.
Pripyat isn't THAT bad TBH. It's not good enough for competitive play, but it's not blowlands.
I have no idea why relic decided to include maps that would be shot down by any CoH1 veterans. They knew we liked open maps with good dynamics, and that we play 1v1. So they gave us a campy 1v1 map that plays like a scaled down scheldt, and another map that's just annoying to play. |
My main problem (really my ONLY problem) with the T34 is that it costs less MP than ANY german AT unit. Seriously; 280mp + 75 fuel is too cheap. An AT gun is 360mp, pgrens for shrecks are ~360mp, the Panzer IV is 480mp, even the STUG is 300-something MP. The russians don't really need to spend fuel to get the things (not much tech cost), and then they need to spend almost zero MP (it's 40mp over a Conscript squad) to get a medium tank.
When a tank that is good against everything costs LESS than fragile AT, there's something wrong.
I'd buff it to about 340/80. |
I own a 570 and only get between 30 and 40 average FPS on medium settings and a 1200p monitor with the latest drivers.
You must be doing something very, very wrong, or have a slow CPU. I'm certain I'm on max settings (100% quality, no AA, rest ultra/max/etc.) at 1080p, and I get ~90fps the entire time. It NEVER drops below 60. And that's with the performance nerf from running two monitors (1080p @ 144hz + 1200p @ 60hz).

Despite being a re-brand, the 770 makes way more sense.
Firstly, a SINGLE GTX 570 will get ~90fps in CoH2 at max settings (except AA) at 1080p. A 770 is approximately equal to a GTX570-SLI setup - except it'll actually be used; so expect close to 200fps. In addition, the difference between the 770 and 780 is between 8 and 12%, but the price-difference is almost 40%.
Unless you're running a 1600p monitor - or a bunch of 1440p screens - the extra vram won't help at all. And, unless you absolutely need the best performance out there, it's more efficient to just get a 770 (or two). |

Yea, I'm not sure how this is going to work for automoatch. It's nice to see the skill level you're up against, and their 'level' simply isn't a measurement at all.
It's not even very logical. The steam stats will end up having a leaderboard (it has to), and that means there will be a search function. From there, high level players will simply search the player while loading to see what rank they are.
It's needlessly convoluted; it makes way more sense to simply have the rank icons back. Or they could use a StarCraft 2/League of Legends style thing with bronze/silver/gold/etc., with each tier broken down into categories (bronze 1, 2, 3, etc.). |
Try this:
Go whatever doctrine gives PPSHs.
Start game -> Spam Conscripts.
Built T1 -> Scout car + flamer engie -> kill MGs
Wait until ~8min -> T3. Wait until 11 min -> T34 spam.
You can now counter absolutely everything. If needed, back tech for mortar + AT gun. If REALLY needed go to T4 (rarely needed).
The PPSH conscripts should usually get equal kills with the Pgrens, but due to reinforcement cost, they'll win out. The tanks (usually Panzer IV or stug) will get killed by AT nades + T34, or just circle strafing. |
