Here is the relevant bit. In a very surprising development as stands it’s actually possible to play as both German and Soviet on both sides of a team game, allowing German & Soviet vs Soviet and German teams. This was an option missing from the original presumably for authenticity reasons and when questioned if this would remain in the retail game I was told that it was possible, but potentially only as a feature of non-ranked custom games. It’s still up in the air, but apparently as stands will be part of the upcoming beta test for the game. In: Lobby

Thread: Mirror Match13 Dec 2012, 17:27 PM For me it is not a question of balance or mirror matches being boring. I simply find mirror matches in CoH2 to be obnoxious. This is not an opinion I can chose to ignore, and I certainly am not trying to persuade anyone else to adopt it. Call it a character flaw if you like but unfortunately finding mirror matches aesthetically offensive seems to be a rather common one. I think it likely that mirror matches would end up being worse for competitive play than their absence by cutting into the viewership that drives seriously competitive games. In: Lobby
