I got it today w00t... 500 GB 850 EVO.
Question: Samsung's "Magician" SSD Optimization software suggests running the BIOS in AHCI mode instead of IDE mode. But when I try to do that, windows goes BSOD (BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH) on me after "Starting Windows...". I tried pulling all of the other drives out and just running the Samsung on AHCI and same result. IDE works fine. Is this a mobo problem? Any ideas, Bud or others?
Yep, BSOD happens when you installed Windows in IDE mode and you tried to launch it in AHCI mode.
I think you have Windows 8.1 so you can try this tweak : https://pricklytech.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/windows-8-1-enabling-ahci-after-installing-windows or http://www.ithinkdiff.com/how-to-enable-ahci-in-windows-8-after-installation
