Activision leadership + veteran blizzard devs and management abandoned ship already, so its a husk of what it used to be, expect your regular AAA tagged money grabs from them only.
Well Call of Duty games have always been AAA and over-priced but they have like 3 or 4 different development teams working on a separate CoD games for years so that another CoD game can release within a year or two of the previous release. I believe the next Call of Duty is rumored to be in the WW2 era...? I am not really into shooters though. Even though I love WW2 era games.
Last shooter I enjoyed was Red Orchestra 2 and have not played that in a long time, but it's quite the good PTSD simulator, Rising Storm isn't bad either, the expansion
As long as people pay a subscription to their Warcraft MMO they will continue churning out content for it. I mean personally the only thing I enjoy about the game is ranked pvp. If you're ever willing to pay a subscription for a focus on pvp it is top notch, in my opinion. And it's the only game I play besides CoH2 (which I am hoping to get more into ranked pvp mostly 2v2 and some 1v1) but for now just bug fixing for me on pvp maps between allies and axis on expert or with or against friends, and testing the beta
Looking forward to the remaster of Diablo 2 though, that is a beloved childhood game for me and is already being well received.
I sincerely hope Diablo 4 will be good. It looks good on paper but who knows...
Who knows what direction Blizzard is going, like you were saying... Hopefully it's not just a bunch of over-priced AAA releases like Call of Duty (which I admit some of them are pretty fun, but again, not very into FPS)
