Against soviets who aren't using a commander with mark target and/or T34/85s. When your opponent's best AT options are ZiS and SU-85s, the panther as designed can be rather useful. It can flank unturreted units well enough, and it has armor tailored for T34/76s and SU/76s. Against USF or UKF? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: re-evaluting the panther's range and HP10 Apr 2018, 17:11 PM Panther mgs are effective... against infantry... that are close enough to throw a snare/be crushed by the panther. So in many ways the panther mg is alright v british infantry and can inflict some mitigating manpower bleed when it overextends/gets overrun. All I know is that relying on paks and stugs is a harried situation to be in lategame, and its not AI power that is lacking in options. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Balance 2018 2vs29 Apr 2018, 16:35 PM Grens are incredibly fragile mid/late game; I'd love to see a 5th man either via vet like REs or via upgrade like Brits. Gren fragile meme is long dead, axis have better value units for trading, the good allied off-maps are much better in 1v1 than 2v2, axis still has aura units that haven't been touched in years and are completely op, axis has better indirect across the board, heavies are almost always useless at this point. I think it's rather indicative that a reduction in received damage from the p4 command aura is equivalent to a 5th member. Though the auras are far more meaningful for the effect on other tanks, it's very effective for infantry as well. I'd rather ostheer have lategame fuel upgrades that increase the vet bonuses of their infantry/tanks at this point. Essentially upgrades that make gren vet scale into stormtrooper level stats and such. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Sov. Counter to Flak HT6 Apr 2018, 16:07 PM ZiS + mines are enough threat to buy you as much time as you need to get to t3 or even t4. OKW will be slow to field decent AT outside raketens if they go for flakHT. They won't have a puma option to punish any of your t3 unit options. Flakhts usually mean the next tech/fuel unit will be a p4, almost by necessity. I don't think I've seen people go medic then mech as OKW, like, at all. You can use that to your advantage. Thread: AT gun accuracy6 Apr 2018, 15:53 PM Pedantic technicalities aside, I can use a basic level of comprehension to decipher what was meant by you both. There's a lot of gameplay components that simulate a 3d environment in coh2, like bridges. There are other components that do operate in true 3d, like terrain, (but not unit pathing.) I'll give you that, most definitely.
