German player will always have map control and the kill con's so fast. Often on retreat, the whole squad dies. And they are often the core army, the only army. They do define it. They are not just support, they are the army. Or does your words only for sowjet player? I'm really upset! :-) Penal squads are brutally effective vs assgrens and they also fail badly against the maxim (unless you ambush him just outside his base . The scout car is a good counter too Assgrens are a high risk/reward unit unit - with skill and the right map and context they CAN have a big impact early game. Get it wrong however and you are in trouble - the rest of the commander isn't so helpful and they don't scale at all well. In: Lobby

Hell that's how this whole patch came about (at least the in game changes not the maps and battle servers). There were enough German bitch posts about 1cp guards/shocks to put the bible to shame even though it wasnt op it was just strong. But here we are 2cp soviet callin infantry ... Want to take bets that peoplw will still cry about it here? Because those people that couldnt handle it at 1cp will probsbly not be able to do it at 2cp either meaning its just a matter of time till the guard/shock qq threads spring to life again But this community is pro German enough that they'll get moved to 3 next patch. Then 4, until eventually all the german fanboys will be happy when shocks unlock at 53725cps Shocks may or may not have been OP at 1 CP but they were really boring discouraging German starts featuring early aggression or maneouvre - you had to hug tight to your mg's. Is because of this i loose half of the early games by spam's rusher's, i dont have nothing and the soviet's get all fine running into no cover no problem... The 10 muni conscripts assault package only had 2 smg's. Now its 30 for 3 AND they come later. This needs to be seen in the context of the previous nerf to them. The original package used the single player campaigns stats for the weapons and they were very powerful. Once this was fixed the two smgs really didn't do that much anymore and whilst cheap were a bit pointless. These changes as another poster pointed out should make this an option to scale cons into the mid late game better. They will be decisive vs un-upgraded grens but not until 3 cp's when your opponent can have pg's + the muni cost will actually make it a decision rather than a no brainer to upgrade. In: Lobby
Thread: New Units stuck in non-playable zone5 Feb 2014, 09:43 AM Yes that would be helpful, Minsk Pocket South - Western Call in. happened on the first unit I called I ordered the unit and just as it was about to complete I set a waypoint on the map for the building a little north of the base on that side to force entry from that call in. Shortly later I noticed the unit sat right on the very edge of the map. Every subsequent unit from that building did this. I think i may have tried to reset the waypoint can't recall In: COH2 Bugs
Thread: New Units stuck in non-playable zone28 Jan 2014, 14:16 PM In a recent game I built conscripts which arrived on the map by the call in point and immediately stopped right on the edge of the map deep within the non-playable area zone. I think this maybe because I set a rally point for the building at the exact same time they entered. I was forced to tilt my view so i could see them in the distance (can't scroll over non playable zones) select them and order them onto the field. i had to do this for the remainder of the game for every unit from that building. Thread: In defense of Relic20 Dec 2013, 18:42 PM It's perhaps worth pointing out that the work is probably being done by smoking gun, a company formed by some members of the original coh1 dev team. Certainly the original steam port was contracted out to them. I expect there is a real rush to try and have it ready for the holiday break so they likely to try and hot fix this. Some people here do need a sense of perspective on this - the game might be still on sale but it costs peanuts and has a single player element easily worth the admission price. Continued multiplayer support is just a bonus so don't look a gift horse in the mouth. In: COH Central
Thread: INPUT LAG Relics Lost Cause18 Dec 2013, 09:45 AM From my recent experience the new patch has made things a little better and most of my games have good responsiveness from units including the 4v4's Still get the odd slowdown where for no apparent reason halfway through the game two players lag out to each other (very occasionally this is clearly deliberate) The last few nights we have had some all clan games with 6-8 people from the US, Europe and Australia and i haven't noticed any significant delay in commands - dodging molotovs etc with ease. Im not saying its quite as responsive as COH was at its best but there is a possible further fix in the works for after christmas. Relic said they are working on a fix that will unlock players from the speed from the slowest player so this delay is not passed onto all players. One difference of COH2 from COH1 of course is that the data is routed through steam servers and I have a hunch that this has been one of the differences in the behaviour. In: COH2 Gameplay
