Personally I'd like to see a release of the worldbuilder pretty soon. I'd be more than happy to sign and NDA if I was given the chance to use an alpha/ beta version of the WB (even with the caveat that there might still be a few unresolved bugs or whathaveyou.)
Furthermore I think a map-making contest would be an excellent idea to really create a healthy body of maps for competitive multiplayer in the next couple of months.
If we were to have a mapmaking competition then the best maps could be judged by the top players of the game (Aimstrong, Sepha etc etc) as well as the Relic devs themselves and each map given an average score out of 10 by each player - taking into account all aspects of the map including balance, playability, layout etc).
From this, the top three maps (or maybe even 5) could be chosen for further development and eventually added into the roster of current automatch maps.
I think it would be a great opportunity to generate some hype - something this site is really good at doing. We could even have tourneys off the back of some of the maps.
I hope something like this happens REAL soon. I know for a fact that there'd be some great maps floating around then. |

Yeah man, I agree with you. I think that makes the spring version a lot more spontaneous than the winter version. Even if they didn't remove the whole fence - just a part of it - would allow for some degree of flexibility with MG bottlenecks and flanking around north etc.
As it stands now, though, I have on a few occasions flamed the fence during a blizzard, so nobody sees, then waltzed in behind MG's camping at the north VP. If it was a solid structure that needed heavy fire to get through then I'd be screaming for a change but as long as you can get through it yourself, its not the end of the world. |

if that is balanced out between the two sides then I don't really see any major problems with this map. Maybe a bit more cover allocated to around the church -which isn't just one huge fence- (to balance out the house+Green cover brick wall + Truck wreck + Panzer IV wreck combo).
Having said that, one thing I do really like about the spring version of this map is that there is more opportunities to flank i.e the fence to the west of the north fuel point being gone. really makes it a fast paced map |
^ I agree. Although I think a cutoff sector should be added to the western side of the map. If you look at the Eastern base, there are four points adjacent to it (one of which is a cutoff) whereas on the western base there are more like 3 with a fourth located between the south ammo and the western base).
I think to counter this problem the two points that are south East of the Western base (just above the VP) should be turned into a single point and this gives the option to add a cutoff the follows the road northwest. |

Can't we all just start drawing up ideas for a redux mod for Coh2 already? seems like you got the right resources here to be able to get it off the ground: mappers, coders, strat anorachs.
