why would you need a fuel price reduction? It can already kill the jackson in 3 shots while the jackson has to shoot 4-6 shots to kill it. And with that already signifcant advantage, the jp4 is going to shoot first because it has better vision, and after vet1 it is invisible. In general it is also firing at tanks that are much less heavily armored then axis tanks, and therefor has a much higher penetration rate. And better front armor and a lot more health. The increased fuel cost reflects the advantages this tank has filling the same role Jackson/SU-85 fills, but doing it better.
Are you sure the Jackson will need 6 shots to kill JP4? I've not seen jp4 bouncing Jackson shots. Does anyone know the stats on the toe-to-toe match-up?
Don't forget that Jackson has a turret, which is a significant advantage over a standard TD. Though the other points you made do make sense.

There's no reason in principle that this should be true. Just to take one example, Magic: The Gathering is chock full of effects described as "removal", which eliminate units, or "clearance", which can potentially wipe all units. If you were to complain that your opponent didn't "fight like a man" with units going toe-to-toe with yours, you'd be laughed at.
So delete-button effects certainly can and do work in the right context; the question, then, is 'how much and how often' in this or any particular game. But that;s a rather different question than one of right or wrong.
I didn't say there was an inherent natural law.
I'm saying gameplay is superior without offmpas that negate micro too much.
Other games are other games. They are not relevant in this discussion as they are likely to have completely different mechanics. What may work well there is unlikely to work well in CoH2.
So, in conclusion, perhaps delete-mechanics do work in other games. My point is that they spoil the gameplay of CoH for me and certainly for other players too. |
Nonsense. You seem to be forgetting the "strategy" part of RTS. Managing resources such that you can kill your enemy's decisive weapon is definitely part of the game, and always has been.
I understand why competitive players fetishise micro, but to claim that any facets that don't rely entirely on micro contradict the "principles of the game" is patently ridiculous.
I partly agree, resource management to use offmaps to supplement your micro/macro is absolutely a part of the game.
Still, I think that when offmaps massively/completely ignore micro response, that's bad design. it should always be possible to dodge those abilities I think. Otherwise they can become a kind of "debug/delete" button. |
I think the OKW deserves a little humble pie after their supreme streak this last patch, its the soviets turn now
Then Soviets will have to get theirs next time and that just means more imbalance.
I say fix it now, let guardsmotor bygones be bygones. |
it gave me essential time to see the LIGHT
I have concluded that every allied unit is op an needs nurfing. while very unit that represents the glorious army of the Reich needs to be buffed to represent their TRUE GLORY.
We must first start with the su-76! it has no right to scratch the paint off of a p4 so effectively.
Wow, you get back from being banned and go right back to sarcasm and trolling. Judging by Katitof's pretty picture, he's ecstatic to see you back spoiling the forum. You guys go, reach for that happy rainbow!
Back on topic - i agree, the Stuka is a bit too much. |
Yeah, does seem excessively damaging. I'd call for damage and cost reduction. "Being able to do dodge" isn't a reason to have such strength as the punishment for not dodging is too severe. |
I'll repeat: If you blob, you deserve the wipe.
I'll repeat:
The issue isn't that it wipes blobs. I can pretty much agree with the "deserve a wipe" idea you have. The big problem is that it wipes single units too effectively, it shuts down harrassment of sector points and limits the axis players options too severely without any tech cost. The punishment is causes is too damn high!
If it only worked on 4+ units and did little damage to single units, I wouldn't care at all. But it wipes single units too easily and spoils gameplay.
If you don't want to listen to me, that's ok but take a look at Aerohank's playercard with his high allied stats. He's top 50 as soviets for god's sake. He is saying demo is bad not because he is an axis fanboy but because he wants balanced gameplay. |
How is this different to "if he managed to bait you over demo, he's earned the wipe" argument then?
You shouldn't get caught by more then single demo, if you have no sweepers after first one or after seeing assault engies, you've failed to take counter measures.
That's a good question, I'll try to explain.
1) Laying a minefield deep in enemy territory behind their lines is more complicated than laying demo in your own territory.
2) A Wehr minefield is very unlikely to wipe a full health squad retreating, only a half-dead squad. A demo will happily destroy full-health squads.
Let's say the soviet player gets a shocks squad behind you so when you retreat he wipes your units - this is fine. He's used timing and tactics to get the wipe. Same as the pios in your retreat path example. But with pios and the shocks would only wipe a badly injured squad. Demo wipes everything and with no skill involved? |
You know something terrible happened to me too last night. I upgrade my guards with DPs and a OH player puts a minefield in the retreat path. They die. How dare that evil Hun do that to me? Should I cry?
If he managed to get behind and flank you, he's earned the wipe. With demo you don't need to do any clever flanking. Just turd one out and wait.

It's not me that is off topic, If you actually bothered to read the OPs post, it was him posting videos about blowing blobs up with democharges. He did not try to create any kind of discussion, this is not in the balance section, but in the gameplay section.
But of course, Then somebody decided to turn this into a balance thread.
Insulting other forum users? What the fuck? Infact it is you that is insulting other forum users considering that you attack other people like me for no apparent reason And then proceed to tell everyone to shut up.
Topic:
Look at these videos of demo charges
Answers:
I don't like demo
You:
People are whining
The first two are connected. Your comment, however, is just an insult. Basically you're saying "If anyone on this forum complains about things I will insult them in any way I see fit!"
I didn't tell everyone to shut up. You're a blatant liar.
You spoil this forum Burts. You regularly insult people. You can't write a post without "f*ck" "sh*t" "idiot" or some other expletive or insult. You are an altogether unpleasant character here. |
