So is the E8 too spammable or does it come out too early or both? People can't seem to make up their minds.
I think it just comes out too early. The call in should definitely be moved to 12 CP. I don't think people would complain as much if so.
I mean, you could increase the tanks cost by like 10-20 fuel and manpower, but I seriously doubt that's going to make much difference. That's only like a minute or two delay for the tank to hit the field. The Panther can easily handle the E8 but the problem is that it takes too long to get it so you either die or hold out and lose like 80% of your units or territory before getting the Panther on the field.
The reason why I think the call in should be moved to 12 CP is because it takes no tech cost. This also forces the player to have to make a risky decision about skipping T4 and not getting any tanks or being forced to build a Major to deal with the tanks/infantry.

I just don't really get the reasoning that USF is supposed to be a light armored faction that hits and run. If so, the M18 Hellcat should've been in the game considering it's the fastest tank destroyer of WWII. |

Would be nice if future commanders added a Pershing tank. I don't get why people wouldn't want it in for more variety and play style choices. |

Yeah, I have the commander and thought the same thing. 180 munitions to wipe out an entire squad of guys + trucks reliably? Sure.
Maybe increasing the cost to 240. |

It's situational just like somebody said. You can drop an AT gun and crew it when you need it instead of waiting for it to build, then hauling it from your base all the way to the front lines. Realize how long that will take?
If you have the time, it's better to build it from your base. But if you're in trouble it's better to just drop it so nearby RE's or rifles can crew it. |

Have you looked at auto matching? It's like 80% Axis most of the time. It was the same way in vCoH. Most of the players were Axis.
I think people just find Axis better designed and more fun and I agree. US is kind of bleh IMO. They're like the old Brits mixed in with US faction...
Anyway, the E8 can't even beat a Panther let alone a Tiger, King Tiger or Jagd Tiger so I don't really see the problem. US finally gets a Sherman that can beat a Panzer IV and people are pissed off about it.
Yeah it's true you can skip T4 with Rifle Company and get E8's but once you tech Panthers or higher it's easily beatable. Skipping T4 means they won't have TD's or M8 tanks you have to deal with. Just Stuka the spam of E8's if you're having that much trouble.
The only problem I see that people are probably having is that it comes a bit too early. Maybe pushing the CP cost to 12 so it forces US players to tech T4 or risk skipping it and waiting too long and getting crushed because they don't have any tanks and floating too much fuel. |

Too bad the Recon Commander's Airborne squad doesn't get that extra thompson smg and ability. I think it was a bit of an oversight. |
