Wont open? |
Thread: SNF23 Nov 2013, 07:56 AM
New guest-stars are emerging from the community and playerbase. CoH1 had a 7 year run uptil SNF4 and there were bound to be known names along the way. This game is 6 months old, and new great players are emerging. This isnt CoH1, some would like it to be, some dont. Also, that is not really up to the SNF crew to change (if needed) but rather up to relic (who wont).
I think they put in a great amount of effort in the SNF and its great quality. Really want them to continue going. |
Really appreciate the work you put in. Quality made! Beer is in the fridge ready for the cast on sunday, wouldnt miss it for the world. |
Sounds like a good idea to me even if I got all DLC commanders, but then again Im not sentimental about my money. There are others who very well will be upset since they paid (alot) for the units and abilities. It will be hard for relic to get players to pay for content since players will know that any content bought might end up free. Im not sure it will drive away more players than it might win back. However im sure experimenting with this is not a good idea the moment, atleast not in relics/segas eyes. Maybe next summer when the game is atleast a year old, or wait till the specific commanders are a year old. |
Spy-maphack is only 10 seconds or so, and even if the cooldown isnt very long it will still drain your muni to spam it, even at its low cost.
The partisans are very squishy. The things I have found them usefull for are:
ATpartisans:
* Kill unsupported light vehicles such as mortar halftracks, scoutars and supplytrucks.
* Get the finishing blow on a tank that tries to get away (if you are lucky enough to get schrecks. Also the squad is quite unresponsive the first seconds so you have to time it really well.
* Destroy fuel/muni caches
AI partisans
* Decap cutoffs and fuels
* Kill teamweapons
They do however, die like flies. Its even hard to retreat them since they usually get deployed behind the lines and a low health squad retreating will get shot at by a random squad at the front, killing it entirely. This means spamming them is a huge MP drain, not to mention all the heavy weapons they litter the maps with, and thats rarely something you want to give the oshteer player for free...
With no elite infantry, no lategame units, and no doctrinal artillery its hardly p2w. |
Personally I burtnt myself out on random teams already years ago in different games. I wont do team without having a mate, preferably on voice, anymore. But to each his own.
I would say voice is almost a must, kind of hassle-free with steam now though. And now that I have a few on the list, I tend to stick with that list. Although with new commanders, it seems less of the added ppl are playing. With random its kind of frustrating being the top one in the team, as well as the one that drags the team down. Not a pro...
Mostly play with IRL friends still, and play very casual. Thats how I started playing CoH1 multiplayer, and thats the way Im going to continue playing. When they stop, I do. |
Basically, if you are going into team-games without a team, you are sort of "doing it wrong". And the consequences are, ofc, having to then play with complete randoms and perhaps having to play against someone who has infact managed to put a team together for team-games.
Nah, I played solo in teamgames and this way managed to pick up alot of friends to play teamgames with this way. Think its a good way to increase your friendslist. |
As MVwhine said, playerbase is to small for this to even be a remotely good idea. However, a workaround could be the earlier suggested checkbox "close match" that could incorporate both close ELO match and ping? It would require longer searchtimes, but rather longer searchtimes than laggy games I guess. |
Me and a friend are working with a small project and it would be great if I could find the stats for the commanders, CP req, mp, fuel, muni, pop etc for each ability. I know LeiwoUnion has his commandertables, unfortunatly they are not updated with the latest commanders and balance adjustments. I really dont want to open up the game to get the stats for 3 commanders at a time. Is there any good ways to grab this info, or is it available on some statspage, and if so, link to that anyone?
Thx in advance |
Sadly havnt watched the replay. But if he is spamming strafes, most likely he is not heavily investing in mines, schrecks or fausts, flamers riflenades etc. This means that your vehicles should have more room to move about. Also, ostheer is very reliant on munitions and if going doctrine with strafe there will be some opel blitz trucks somewhere to take down. The earlier the better. Also try to destroy any caches asap. |
