Don't agree with sniper counters sniper to be a must. I actually prefer it this way, where snipers are more likely to die from mortars or being run over. The sniper wars from coh1 were kind of fun, but also frustrating. Also with the new cover system I think it makes more sense to have to counter snipers with something else than an exact copy of the same unit. |

Last time where I thought "oh crap, I'd love to have ISU now" was before IS-2 T34/85 buffs.
You dont play many teamgames do you? Because in teamgames the ISU is still frequent. Perhaps not a no brainier, but still used.
Other then that, Panther works as is. With some good defensive lines, at nades, mines and overlapping AT fire, they go down quite fast. |

It is very map-dependant i would say. If soviet bunkers down its really fun to arty on them. Rzhev is a good map for this, pripyat. When playing team I usually skip t3 and go for a panzerwerfer and start bleeding the soviet players. Either shoot at their shocks if you can find them, then ATGs or other semi-static units, lastly fire at Su85s. The thing about arty is you are most likely not going to kill the su85s, but you force them to move about. So use this in conjuction with a push or a flank.
The 120 has actually got nerfed since release, cant remember when though. Its a pain, but something you have to deal with. A solution is to keep mobile, dont leave your crew-weapons at the same spot. Also, try to close in on the opponent so he might mortar himself just as well. Also, the mortar HT (flame barrage)is fantastic to clear 120 mils. Panzerwerfer also does a good job.
We rarely go for elephant, its good to shoot tanks, but expensive and can be rammed. A cheaper thing to get is the pak43, and that vets up silly fast. Situational though, and you will lose it. However, its not very expenisve and more or less payid for itself after 2 tank-kills. It even shoots through buildings and trees, so just place it behind a house and you will have some protection against katyushas.
Lastly, use recon. ALOT. Scout for targets or weakpoints in their defense. Dont let them bunker down to much. |
I'm actually the other way round, in 1v1 I just have myself to let down, in 2v2 I don't want to let down my buddy.
As long as you are on a reasonable same level its fine i would say. Also, you can work more with refining roles one player can focus on supporting, the other one harassing and agressive. Still, you have to be quite good friends and be able to understand eachothers well incase you get into a really bad losing streak. |
Good sniper counter is grenadiers riflegrenade and mortar. If soviet have T1 = no maxim, no mortars, no ZiS.
We are still speaking teamgames. One goes t1 the other t2, so the problem is still there. |
The few 1v1s I have played, I can make it work, but in 2v2s (most players play teamgames...) the guard shock combo is quite nasty to deal with. Not saying its impossible, but it is an uphill struggle if they play very aggressive. |
AGrens are a very diffrent animal as stated above. They have plenty of counters. |
