Aren't volksgrendiers literally translate to Civilian Soldiers and if I remember history right, Volks should be on par of Conscripts since thats what they were historically.
I mean, thats just me looking at it from a historical point, but yeah, I think Conscripts should be reduced in manpower cost and upkeep rate.
Volksgrenadier were heavily armed and based around a core of veteran infantry. They were elite troops.
Conscripts shouldn't be on par, they should be dirt cheap and spammable. This represents the limitless pool of manpower the sovied bloc had to draw from. |
The main issue with the King Tiger is the amount of EXP needed in order to get to Veterancy 5. Out of the 5000+ Hours of COH2 I have played, I have seen a handful of King Tigers survive to reach Vet 5.
Proposed Changes :
Amount of Veterancy needed reduced in half
Tank Now has switchable rounds (HE for infantry and AP for armor)
This would put the King Tiger in a good spot.

I like the idea of reworking gun, cause now it seems ridiculous, when 122mm gun deals the same damage as 76mm or 85mm. IS-2 gun historically, as I know, had exactly that - slow firing high damage gun. Maybe increase damage by 40, and reload time by 1,5 sec will suffice.
And I agree to elchino, that IS-2 could be more popular if it'll be present in other doctrines.
It also used HE shells exclusively and those shells fired at a lower velocity than the 88. So it wasn't really strong vs late war german armour, i'd like to see it perform similarly to the sturmtiger, or brummbar with a little more AT for difference. |
Actually I would rather see other infantries nerfed instead of buffing conscripts.
Imo the buffing circles have lasted too long making faction like USF and UKF feel weak.
I could add some reinforcement cost reduction with vet, replacing some of the other vet bonuses.
PPsh conscripts need a nerf, and I would start by removing hit the ground. These abilities simply do not mix together.

Sherman AP shell have decent AI, you are probably referring to ISU-152 shells.
Actually KT is the only Axis stock tank with high armor.
Increase the armor of KT is not the obvious decision, decreasing the penetration of allied TD is.
They need to perform as well as 2 PzIV, Or slightly better considering with tech factored in the KT is more expensive as it needs 3 trucks, not only 2.
There should also be a reward for saving for the KT instead of getting 2 PzIV |
Conscripts are insanely good with vet, they just need to be cheaper. Volks squads are good, OKW just suffers with mg spam and garrisons as the LEIG sucks. |
None of sov commander have both off-map art and recon
The cheapest combo may be USF major recon planes+TOT barrage, 240 muni(180+60) for 400 mp (fuel ofen overflow in late games)
That is incorrect, check Soviet roster again. You will find reckon planes and IL-2 bombing in the same commander.
In addition its does not really matter in 4vs4 game.Player A can provide the reckon player B can provide the off map.
