Resolved:
Thankfully, I was kindly instructed to delete the CoH2 folder in the "my games" folder; it will automatically recreate itself and should not have personal settings overwritten by defaults. |
Thank you both for your prompt replies.
SturmTiger, your solution seemed the most viable! I cannot thank you enough.
Wishing you the best in your CoH2 gaming experience.
Kind regards |
Hi,
I posted earlier in the Tech support section about this problem:
The graphics and sound settings I apply in the game are resetted to default at each launch; strangely, the Gameplay settings are saved correctly. I'm not sure if it's a bug or technical issue on my part.
Could anyone please clarify please?
PS: A good chap on the Tech support forum suggested I lock the file in which the graphics and sound preferences are saved, yet I don't know if this is the ideal strategy, or where the file is, anyhow.
Thanks in advance. |
What I have found strange, however, is that a friend of mine who was still below level 50 also has a prestige star, yet his levels have continued normally. |
Hi,
Not sure how to label this issue, but basically, each time I launch the game, I have to manually re-adjust graphics and sound settings once more, as they are reset to the default upon every fresh launch. Strangely, the only settings not affected are the those on the first screen (ticking for player colours, etc., classic tickers, etc.).
How may I resolve this issue, please? As it is becoming quite frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

First of all, thank you for providing us with more map variety. This is always appreciated!
However, I just played my first game on (2-4) Baraque de Fraiture, played vs an OKW, and realised that there were no flak guns as base defenses, facilitating base rush tactics. I doubt this is intentional. Thank you once again. |
I know it's been stated before, but PLEASE address the audio issues; apart from the announcer being too low at times, sometimes one experiences a horrible, random, extremely loud cracking noise. It's frustrating, borderline painful, and should definitely be looked at, even though I would assume it's not of such a high priority as more glaring bugs. |
Yes, this happens from time to time and it's goddamn loud.
This bug and the soft HQ announcer guy is also an issue. Please fix. |
I've been trying:
1st Engie builds T2 while you build 1st Conscript, go for fuel with con, cap joining sectors with Engie...
Maxim > Con > Maxim
Upgrade health station on HQ
Shocks
AT Guns as necessary...
(if going Soviet Shock army upgrade PPSH on Cons)
Tech to T3 when fuel allows, T34s...
Bulletins: Maxim accuracy buff, shocks accuracy buff, T34 armour buff
Trick is to be flexible with the maxims early game (especially due to Gren Riflenades and flanking flamer Pios), while flanking mgs and mortars with cons.
Upgrade to AT nades to slow down vehicles for AT guns to pick. Shocks to sweep up infantry.
A flamer halftrack would ruin your day however, so plant mines or get that AT Gun instead of shocks or health upgrade

With the recent CP rework, Guards are deployed earlier on the field, hence providing Soviets with a pretty hard counter to scout cars and halftracks in the early game. While before, scout cars could add an interesting flavour to German T2, and reward good micro while doing so, now I fear that Guard presence will negate this unit's usefulness in the early game. Will it be rendered useless?
True, guards are a doctrinal unit, and scout cars may be saved for the later parts of the game with diligent care, but do you feel that its window has further been narrowed with such a counter coming much earlier?
And what about the German Flame HT? How does it currently sit in the game? I always have a commander with guards on standby just in case my opponent goes for Flame HT rush, but I haven't yet experienced just how quick Guards come on the field in relation to the fast Flaming HT. |
