They are fine, and in open contact with Allied infantry they lose. I had games in which my vet 1-2 riflemen destroyed vet 5 volks. They are definitely great in cover, since Riflemen have to cover ground to reach them in CQB. But that's what M8 Greyhound is for. To remind Volks what's in the canister.
vet1 rifles is the same as vet0 except for AT grenade. M8 coming at 5cp and it wold be risky to fire canister on Volks because they have panzerfaust |
That sentence is either wrong, biased, or misunderstood.
Put the volks squad in the wrong hands or wrong place and they fall like flies...
Rifleman scales better to lategame and they synergise better with M10 lategame.
IS are strong and im sure you can only win them with tactics and ambush, i do it all the time. IS scales great also to lategame. Not to mention how c*ncerous their blobs are.
Volks are SUPPOSED to be somewhat competent, and also aggressive. Want to win them 1v1? Then buff OKM tanks even more (you cant win always ;p)
As you said, EARLY GAME. Does that mean WIN THE GAME? I guess not.
Simple, get blob control... maxim, 50cal, vickers... its the sensible thing to do. Dont worry, spam infantry and you will lack of proper armor, or AT, or support... the game does not give infinite resources AFAIK.

Okw infs and team weapons is overall cheap now. spam inf would not get that much drawbacks.
Okw have very high win rate against USF and UKF, right?

If you want to learn how to face volks early, then just ask it. Or explain yourself why you consider hard to face. To ask for a nerf only makes the game more pale in favour of your simple tactics and plain thinking.

Can simply add ez8 to mechanized instead of making 76 sherman more like a ez8? and leave rifle companys for later revamp?
in addition, reserve amour is better fit the theme of rifle company(maybe no 76 sherman but able to upgrade 75 sherman to crocodile. In fact, I don't think it make sense to upgrade a 75 sherman if u can build a 76). exchange their ability would be fine. |
Why are you asking for a volks nerf?
Because they(250mp) perform even against 280mp IS and Rifles.
With stgs they are the best inf in early game and slightly better than Rifles with single bar.
Having witnessed too many volks spam really make me tired when I play allies. It also make me bored when I use Volks when play Okw. |
So remove e8 to mechanized. And reintroduce vet rifleman(with initial cooldown or 1cp, maybe able to upgrade some addtional weapons after unlock officers)
flares can be combined with forward observation(increase inf sight when stationary for old recon company) for 1 slot, maybe also make all officers able to call art strikes also.

The easiest way is to increase its cost(260/26 and 80mu for stgs for example)
Slightly nerf its performance to match cons(240mp) maybe another option.
Locking stgs for T3 or T4, though it may not work properly.
Or buff IS and Rifled as only UKF and USF have poor win rate in GCS |
Double Engie -> Sniper OR Penal -> M3 OR Penal -> Penal -> Guards
Soviet T1 should have no problem vs Volks at all if you play it right. Penals trump pre-HQ Volks even harder than Riflemen. Sniper can make those engagements even easier, as there is no risk of counter-snipe and Kubel dive is very easily forced off by any supporting arms/M3. M3 Clowncar to force early Raketen would mean 1 less Volks. Finally, Guards to soft counter Luchs/Puma which are most likely to dive for sniper.
Alternatively, Cons + PPsH is good, but only after PPsH upgrade.
I don't think stgs would make a big difference to counter this strategy anyway. it's better for okw to go for 4 volks(maybe 1 kubel when counter sniper)+1 rakten(in fact it's not that necessary as SPs could upgrade panzerscherck without T2 or T3 for 70mu) before acquiring T2 or T3 |
Volks deserve some nerfs but this isn't gonna do anything at the stage they are actually too stronk.
Maybe so, actually I do not find it necessay to upgrade stgs to get an advantage(dating back to years before they do not have stgs). Volks are bascally too cheap for their performance. But I don't think increse the cost is a better solution as it's a characteristic feather.(If all infs perform the same and cost the same it would be no balance problem but makes the game boring) |
I think Volks StG when it comes now is fine. Riflemen trump Volks at close range at min 0, and Penals scale well vs Volks as well. Although I have little experience with USF, T1 Soviets is the way to go vs OKW.
Penals have been nerfed, coming late and costy. I don't find it that hard to deal with penals when I
keep 1 more volks aganist them. And I actually play a T3 build now.(would call in command panther instead of building T4 for tanks when in disadvantage) |
