Thread: So people are still okay with Sturmpios?20 Dec 2018, 17:44 PM @sluzbenik Blobbing at someone with SturmPios and Volks as early as possible is going to do nothing but get your Sturms focus fired and killed before they do anything if the allied player has a few braincells to rub together. There is plenty of early nuance to using and fighting against Sturms. Sight Blockers, flanks, even intercepting a new unit coming out of spawn. While on the defensive side you can back up and force him to overextend into a larger force, flank his volks yourself while his sturms are getting in position, or even take an unorthodox approach to the map to bamboozle his early game aggression entirely. You might prefer the Wehrmacht engagement but saying that OKW early game is brainless blobbing is disingenuous. It's simply different and it's okay to prefer one over the other. In any sense it's important to know how to deal with both regardless of which you prefer. In: COH2 Balance

Try assigning it over a different tile selection. That's specifically what caused the crash for me. I have never had this happen. WARNING: THIS HORRIFIC HACK MAY NOT WORK If you have a lot invested and want to try: I would download a HEX file editor and change the name of the texture in the file. Then try to open it in the worldbuilder again. Make a backup first! Pick a texture name that is equal or smaller than the one you are replacing so you don't overwrite stuff. Equal is best! EXMAPLE: in file you may see: grass\grass_02333?333? The texture is grass\grass_02. You dont want to overwrite the 333?333? If the name you choose is smaller, you will want to overwrite the last characters with NULL or ASCII 0. If that doesnt work maybe try space ASCII 32. The SGB file is what you need to edit. It will be very large, like 10-20 MB. So it may take some time to open in an editor. And the texture name will appear twice about 1/3 of the way in. IT WORKED! rubble\industrial_02333?333? can safely be replaced with rubble\industrial_debris_01333?333? to fix the crash. Took a lot of trial and error, and even just finding the specific instance of the broken tile texture was a pain. (It was all the way at the bottom of the file nearly drowned by so many other rubble and industrials) but so far the map appears to be working swimmingly and no more tile texture crash. Thread: Tile Editor (Industrial Rubble) Crashes Worldbuilder20 Aug 2018, 18:36 PM So while I was messing around with the Tile Editor I happened upon the Industrial rubble section. I learned very quickly that Worldbuilder doesn't appreciate Industrial Rubble seeing as it crashed 3 times in all the tile experiments I attempted. Unfortunately, despite saving before attempting my tests, whenever I open the Tile Editor section Worldbuilder instantly crashes on me now. (On this map and only this map) This is both a word of warning, and a request for assistance. I've all but finished the tile settings for my map so it's not a devastating loss. But I'd like to know if there is a quick and easy way to fix this, either in or out of worldbuilder since it's pretty obnoxious if I want to go touch something up and I'm just permanently locked out. Thread: How to make a custom loading picture!19 Aug 2018, 01:04 AM Thank you! I was primarily attempting to use DDS files seeing as all the other map related files in the folder are DDS. With a little further experimenting with TGA's I eventually got it to work. Also I quite like that depth of field effect tutorial you posted, I'm pretty green to image editing and am adopting a learn as I go policy so having practical effects to learn from is incredibly helpful! Thread: How to make a custom loading picture!18 Aug 2018, 23:31 PM So I'm having a unique problem with loading screens. I've attempted to make my own custom loading screen through Gimp but as soon as I get into game the loading screen appears black and I can see a vague pop-up message repeatedly appearing and closing as the map attempts to load. At this point the map fails to load and leaves me on the black screen permanently until I force close the game. The map works just fine otherwise when the custom background is removed. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong. So far I've tried a slew of different approaches (dds and tga, different resolutions, simple flat color images) but every time it fails. I'm assuming I failed to do something necessary in Gimp with the images for them to correctly be interpreted and I'd like some advice on what I possibly could have missed that could be causing this problem.
