One advantage of S-mine fast planting time is, used to plant at opponents retreat route and wipe out his retreating half dead squad. Best to use against shocks, guards and snipers. That's nonsense sorry. The build time is like 1 second so you can't focus fire them and also small arms do not trigger mines and the Pio can simply retreat after finishing one part of the minefield. It's funny how ALL of your posts are PRO Ostheer and your stats show that you almost exclusively play OH. In: COH2 Balance

Running over them like some people in this thread suggested is a horrible idea, I lost several Conscripts trying this. Sweeping or avoiding them is the only option until the first tank arrives. The build time needs to be longer so Pios can't lay them right next to a horde of conscripts ! In: COH2 Balance

Unlike s-mines, they don't have little "Mines are here!" signs. If s-mines are area denial to you, then you are not building a single patch. You are probably building multiple patches to cover an area. Soviet mines aren't just put there hoping for vehicles - they are used equally against infantry. Rifle Grenades destroy mines no matter if they're visible or not. (I'm 99% percent sure, can someone confirm please ? ) And I also think that flamers (at least fht) destroy soviet mines as well. I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure that this map along with Langres and Crossing in the woods won't make for good games. Secondly all units in a M3 should have a 50 % less accuracy penalty because the whole idea of snipers shooting out of a vehicle is just stupid imo. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Why don't you take part in tournaments?8 Feb 2014, 20:23 PM PS: The skill ceiling in Wargame is exponentially higher than both CoH games imo, that game is very underrated in the competitive RTS scene. yeah basilone ia agree, wargame is underrated but im pretty sure the skill ceiling is way lower than in CoH2. Im not 100% sure because i only played it against a friend who is pretty damn good so i got my ass handed to me in most of our games, however most of the Pro games i witnessed werent really impressive (micro wise) compared to CoH top games. Imo the problem with wargame is that the gameplay itself tends to be extremely static while the deck system and the unit variety is absolutely great and it definitely offers more strategic depth than both coh and coh2. back to topic: Maybe relic should take a look at the way Eugen System organises Wargame tourneys ? I remember a wargame world cup organised by the developer itself. (correct me if im wrong) In: Lobby
