Thread: Im stumped (validate actions and special icons)27 Feb 2022, 06:23 AM Update: I am still looking for help with the Icon issue. But as for the other one, TLDR i got the extension validation thing working.. the solution is embarrassing and i feel stupid.. Technically their wasn't anything wrong with the ability & it was set up perfectly, (which is why it worked with other units) anyway after some creative thinking and tracing the problem to its source (which turned out to be the snipers EBPS. Where i found out that it was an issue with the EBPS missing Upgrade exts causing the ability not to work and sense their were no Upgrade Exts for the ability lockout upgrades to be sent to, thus causing it to fail the validation. Edit2: i got some help on the discord.. funny how 2 innocent little questions turn into a 4 hour dive down a rabbit hole. but im better off now, cuz i got new tools and learned many new skills i can use elsewhere. Thread: Im stumped (validate actions and special icons)26 Feb 2022, 19:46 PM i was wondering if anyone might know why a bunch of units can use an ability totally fine. but 1 other unit might not beable to use the same ability with no changes to it, unless (validate actions) is turned off? (which ofc turning It off breaks/ignores the requirements for that ability for some reason, so turning validation (off) is not preferred) then i had 1 other question regarding icons You know the little white binoculars icon that comes under the units icon when you get the commander upgrade for your tank? do you know how to give that icon to other units? Here is an example of the little binocular icon i want to give to jeeps and other recon units. any help would be appreciated. In: Modding and Tools

Thread: Question about Modifiers & passive abilities5 Mar 2020, 12:18 PM do you have a discord or something? I tried to set it up the way you said, but i dont have much experience with making this kinda complex action, and nothing i do works. Im going to need a step by step on this. All i have to do is get 1 of these working, then i can apply the same method to a ton of units once i learn how to do this. I do appreciate the help thus far. thank you. I should be as clear as possible. What im trying to do is make the British 'defensive operations commander ability passive' automatically trigger a buff that makes "Emplacements build 25% faster and have 20% reduced upkeep costs." I had assumed "incorrectly it seems" that i would need to apply this shadow upgrade to the units/buildings i wanted it to affect via a requirement action. But this doesnt work, Now im making an upgrade?? how do i make this upgrade point to the units that are suppose to have this effect? im lost now.... =( How did you get this working in your test? Does that go in in the units EBPS, or SBPS? Or do i make some kinda hidden upgrade?? Im not sure what im doing wrong. Im sure i can get that to work. But im not sure if my units have any free build options left inside their Engineer_ext. i think i hit the limit sadly so im still open to other options. I was trying to make requirement action inside the units Action.ext, that needed the upgrade, then applied population and cost modifiers. but i cant figure-out how to set it up properly so it actually makes changes ingame. Thread: How can i Trouble shoot crash bugs? .dmp files2 Sep 2019, 16:32 PM Oh i should also mention, that we can play the game for awhile and sometimes it wont crash at all. But when it does, it kicks the WHOLE game, every player on both teams. Not just 1 person. It seems to be semi isolated to the USF and Something to do with the Para trooper commanders, but its very difficult to trigger on command. And the mod is so extensive that even knowing its related to the USF or para commanders doesnt help, so i cant tell whats causing it. Or else i would look at those related files, Hence the need for some kinda Debug info. In: Modding and Tools
Thread: How can i Trouble shoot crash bugs? .dmp files2 Sep 2019, 16:29 PM So im working on a mod. And i get random crashes but i don't know whats causing it. Is their a way i can open & view/read the error log .dmp files? And even if i could, would they have any info in them as to what caused my crashes? Or is their another way to find out whats causing my crashes?? Warnings doesn't seem to have anything useful in it ever... I use to mod older Relic Games like Homeworld, and that was easy to trouble shoot. it would tell you right in the logs what caused the fetal exit, or at-least the file that caused it. Thread: A few Quick modding questions17 May 2017, 04:03 AM Jump back to quoted post16 May 2017, 15:02 PMAngrade (Ægion) To do this, edit the weapon origin. Go to the P47 in the ebps, combat. There are two hard points, the left and right rocket. Change the x origin from +/- 5 say to 2 to make them a tighter grouping. The rocket to animation will be slightly off the model but it is not like you actually watch the aircraft. Alternatively, you could messing around with the heading in order to angle inwards but I have not tried this. Ohhhhh i really like the sound of that. that sounds very close to what i was looking for. ill be back in a day or 2 with my findings. Thanks a ton guys! =) Edit: Yeah it helped!
