That's why people should stop playing CoH2 and CoH3 until the game is in an acceptable state. But if you play and support. Relic is in a "it's fine by them" state of mind.
But for the people to stop playing a game they are addicted to... not happening sister. CoH3 came out. Played a couple of times. Noticed it was super s*** but had a lot of potential. Stopped playing. CoH2 numbers fell. Uninstalled it.
I have 17.5 hours in CoH3 and I've bought it on the release day. Given how I've played CoH2 for thousands of hours, and got the full game/dlc/exp for 10 dollars. I didn't mind buying before the reviews. To at least give some money back. I really did like CoH2, even though Sander and that German guy destroyed the balance in teamgames |
I don’t know how you guys play this, but looking at CoH3, CoH2 is an ideal game. CoH3 is just total spam, spam and spam is 1000 times worse than CoH2, there is no concept of combined arms combat here at all. And this was created by the top players in the Company of Heroes. Disgraceful.
If "Top" players of CoH2 had an input in CoH2, then it's all the red flags you need.
Just because you spend most of your life playing one game, does not mean you know jack s*** about game design.
I doubt they had an input. I think Relic themselves f***** up CoH3. |
if you already bought the game, please give it another go now, in today patch state, it is finally playable.
make sure to do at least 5 games, of course before you start, watch some tightrope replay vids on youtube, with the latest patch, just to refresh and pick up some meta
Don't get your hopes up. The game is boring as fuck.
Once they start adding heavy tanks. Rework tank ranges and reduce the VP tick rate. Then I'm guessing more people will come play CoH3. I bought the game, but I don't regret buying it and not playing.
Bought the complete COH2 for 5 euros. And played it a lot. Don't mind waiting for CoH3 to come up to a standard (if it comes at all) worth of CoH franchise.
For example. The Black Prince is super fun to play. It's a prototype WW2 tank. Who cares. But playing it is ill advised as it comes too late to be of use. Same with the Tiger. And now they've overnerfed the E8 because why not. It seems like those that make the decisions at Relic have really been smoking some bad s**t. Or a bad strain or something. Because for a change like the instant acceleration to pass the QA... I mean. Really? Are you telling me Relic deployed to a staging/test environment, the 1.4 version. And the QA/DevOps did the tests and found "yeah, I really like this toy car acceleration".
Holy f*** they should find a new supplier. |
What Aerafield said. People complained about heavy tanks (mostly super heavy) in CoH2. And with good reason. 70 range 400 penetration tanks with 400 armour. On maps which are lane-y as f***, was not a good experience. ISU152 was at least somewhat nerfed with the HE shells range.
So what did Relic big brains do? Light and medium tank spam. Heavy tanks super expensive. VP tickrate fast as f*** boy. Poor sound design on explosions. Explosion effects are also ... poor.
They also reworked tank ranges from 40-60 to 40-50. So now you have a Hellcat TANK DESTROYER that can't destroy tanks as it only "outranges" medium tanks by 5 range. And has low armor and HP. And they also made this silly change that tanks accelerating from a standstill, will accelerate instantly to 100% velocity. So it's looks like the Re-Volt game from 1990s. Also makes the 5 range advantage void.
Games last shorter. Are more dull and boring and revolve around the same old medium tank spam. Or light tank spam for fast victories.
If they made CoH3 heavies like CoH2, with the exception of 72.5 sight range KT. And if the tanks like ele, jagd, ISU152 actually had flaws, unlike CoH2 where they were without a single vulnerability (well, unless you're retarded and assault with them going first)... it would have been a better game and more people would play it. CoH is a game with the focus on teamgames. Not 1v1. 1v1 is for the e-sport type games |
The store is overpriced for the fat whales that absolutely need the cosmetics, ASAP. Then they will decrease it under the guile of "sowwyyyyy, we made a bu-bu, we sowwy" or some other community-patronizing BS.
Couldn't give less f**** about the store. It's completely optional.
It's a normal update anyway. SEGA probably pushed the store/bugs more than the rebalance. Which is fine.
They need to fix bugs first, before trying to balance out the game.
I'd even say that current COH3 is not that more unbalanced than current COH2. Especially in teamgames. Everything, always, revolves around "meta" tactics. You can nerf one thing, another will pop out. You can thank the no-lifers that play games for a living (Streamers, etc.), that have way too much time on their hands to play COH3 and find different tactics/strategies.
They need to add more content... BGs, heavy tanks, premium mediums.... Rebalance the tank ranges. Then you'll still have meta strategies, but at least you could have a choice between a couple of meta strategies. |
Hello guys

Leaderboards and player stats.

Other analytics and unit stats planned.
Feel free to discuss here or on our discord.

How does one extract the unit stats? Is there some sort of program that can deal with the .sga files? And if they are extract-able, are they readable without a specialized program? |
True.
But understand that there are more people that care more about casual play. Especially at launch (when they are learning the game). Than there are players that will actually look at leaderboards.
Even among people that play ranked, there are lots of those that don't give two fu**s. (eg. me).
In the end. First few months of a newly released game, especially an RTS which has a fu**ton of moving parts, are those with a status of "BETA+".
I'll seldom blame RTS devs that fail to deliver a product on the same level as a previous installment (COH2) which had years of developement and upgrades, and on top of that a balance done by community (a step back in my book but w/e).
I can guarantee that the top brass forced the release. And I can guarantee that the devs which actually write the code and create assets/art, would have liked to been given a few more months of development.
Current players are BETA+ participants.
After a few months, you will be able to claim you are playing a "somewhat" finished game. After a year, it will be a finished game. |
Uhhhhh all I got from relic after working for 1000's of hours on updating maps for map patches was "Excuse me, I dont even know your name. Who the fook are you?"
Community members: "So what about this top secret Coh3? I guess Coh2 will be dead when this comes out?"
Me: "Coh3? What are you talking about?"
Community members: "Relic did not contact you to check it out or look at maps or anything?"
Me: " Nope."
Community members: "All I did was help them once for a couple hours, you have like 100's of hours that you worked for them and have some of the most played maps in the game?"
Me: "Well, thats Relic for you. Dont know their ass from a hole in the ground. F'ing morons."
But yeah, you new guys keep making maps for them. Enjoy.
You really didn't get anything in return for making maps? Not even a thank you note? Premium unique tank skins? Free DLC?
Nothing?
That's shameful |
am I to understand that these leaderboards are not generated by Relic, someone in the community has to pull data from COH3 to make this visible?
I kinda get that. I doubt you get a lot of money for implementing such features which a community member can access if you just give them the API and the data. They don't spend resources on such trivialities, and the community can have what it wants, the way it wants it.
Same as how people hire mapmakers to create maps. Why draw from a pool of a couple of dozen people to design and balance the maps, when you can have potentially hundreds of people do it for you, for a couple of perks (skins, dlc maybe or stuff like that, I don't know what Relic gave you for COH2 mapmaking, if anything). |
British Sappers are utter bs. You can't even allow them to come remotely close. Pretty much over the top for a starting unit.
Same as SPios in COH2. Nothing new |
