the t34s also have double the rate of fire and health though, as well as the capacity to flank. its greater investment for sure but even despite that the 2 has the advantage over the 1 handily.
P4 has less reload than T34/76. And double the health would equalize that one T34/76 will likely do half the damage as a P4 due to chance to pen. So yes on paper the (OKW) P4 will still win in a vacuum due to less reload. I know that you can flank in game but the match-up between two T34s and one OKW P4 is way harder than Felix makes it out to be. |
While I definitely agree that "elite" units are far better because of the greatly reduced micro tax, your hypothetical was really too far-fetched. It's why Panthers are so good at pretty much every level of play. Point taken but a better example would be nice.
Losing a T34-76 to an OKW p4 when you have a 2 v 1 advantage requires really really bad micro or really bad RNG and really shouldn't be treated like it's the norm or a reasonable situation.
T34/76 has a 34% chance to pen a OKW P4 from max range. 55% chance it will score a natural hit. So that means the chance of getting a penetrating hit from max range are about 19%. Not sure if you can really say it's bad RNG IMO.
Meanwhile the OKW P4 pens the T34/76 at 73% even on max range. Given they have the same accuracy and target size you will end up hitting + penetrating at around 40%. So yeah, at least in this scenario it wouldn't be bad RNG to lose. |
USF had similar performance for most units during GCS2. Stuart was the same, AA HT the same, 50 cal (iirc) the same, m1 AT gun the same, sherman the same, mortar was the same, REs were nearly the same (same DPS anyway), pack howitzer was stronger, the jackson was stronger, scott was stronger, LT was stronger by virtue of the fact that it came with weapon upgrades, and the m20 was much costlier though I would say better performing.
Considering USF's performance and presence in GCS2, I'd say having "every usf unit better than their counterparts AND giving them free squads" isn't quite the issue as you paint it to be.
(Also consider that a lot of the units the above would be compared to were the same or weaker - mg42 was the same, maxim was weaker; AT guns unchanged + raketen buffed; p4 and cromwell buffed; indirect fire was the same; TDs were the same, etc.)
Wow. Are you really ignoring that GCS2 was before the big USF tech revamp patch? |
Another thing I personally don't get is the mine laying speed. Why can Rifles lay mines as fast as pioneers/engineers now? I thought it was supposed to be a trade-off between speed and available squads that are capable of laying mines. Why not just give RE proper mines instead? |
OKW early game power is unchanged.
Following volks simply arrive 1-2 seconds later. Nothing else changed.
How can it be unchanged when they start with less MP and Volks cost more? These timings are important for early game engagements. |
Well they were already good before the last buff. They only struggled with OKW early game dominance and Volks+Sturm combo.
Now that OKW early game power was reduced they are just too good considering they always bullied Grens anyway.
It's true that they always beat Volks in close to mid-range but now the margin is so big that even if they have to close in they often end up winning. Plus Sturmpioneers are terrible against Riflemen now, before they could get a lot more work done in the early minutes prior to bar upgrades. |
Yeah lets just make stuart casually pop 251 and 222 in 2 hits. Okw health imo is good as it allows you go sctually use diffirent tier without being entirely punished for not going med hq every single time.
I think he suggested this mainly because of how hard the Puma counters the Stuart. Stuart is already very good vs Ost T2. |
18. paratroopers(give camo when equped bazookas)
like ir paras.
Disagree with 18, that would be too OP. 3 elite zooks + camo + 6 man. No Thanks.
Stuart should stay at 80 too.
Agree with the rest.

In which alternate reality are Penals better than Riflemen when you consider the lack of upgrades, lack of snares, lack of grenades and having to go a certain tech in order to get them? |
i left out the doctrines for everyone. core is whats important. you dont balance the core by what you can get in doctrines (i.e. old soviet design) core must be independant and work regardless of doctrines
If that was the design we were after no one would play Soviets because without their Guards and Shocks in early to mid and call in vehicles in late they would be completely trash. |
