Aren't g43s like really really exceptionally good on the move and don't they have like a nominally better DPS curve? Because other than that I have no idea, especially on a sort of urban map like arnhem. |
Played against this the other day and its incredibly stupid to play against. Although it is beatable, it doesn't make it fun or easy to play against. Problem is that if you don't catch this turtle early it can be very difficult to take down. USF will blob and reinforce with bunker positions, UKF goes pit with MGs, and soviets are blobbing with USF.
As OST you either need to catch it early and go flametrack, or you need to go probably 3x mortar covered by MGs and have your teammates aid in protecting your mortars. Because there isn't a great way other than brute forcing on maps like red ball. That or pray you go lategame, get an elephant and just delete the entirity of their armies.
Arty and elefants might help too. Can't kill elefants with at guns or TDs and they've got enough range to be shooting at autofiring scotts and mortar pits pretty easily too. Arty is nice for turtling (especially if you can find forward retreat points). As long as you can keep that stuff safe you can probably just out turtle them at that point. |

Let's for one moment pretend your hallucination is correct why does a pak howitzer auto fire then? a panzerwerfer needs to be in relatively close range to squad wipe and is timed manual fire only.

how about we make it similar to the aec? first requiring an optional upgrate then one can use the puma. If they want to be aggresive with light vehicles they have to pay, without making the puma useless.
That way timing can be adjusted fair
Or you can just increase the cost and/or build time of the puma, since it's not a binary choice like AEC or bofors is. |

No, because if you actually demo an lefh, it's a proportional loss to the skill/resources it takes to pull that off, it's realistic (again, this kind of stuff is literally what paratroopers did in real life), and it makes sense with how the game works. What are you supposed to demo if not fortifications? Infantry?
Whereas obviously demoing a base makes zero sense in terms of gameplay. |
The problem there is unless you start getting to insane armour values, all you achieve is cementing tank destroyers as the only counter.
I don't know if this is even within the capabilities of the mod tools, but what if instead of more frontal armour, they had frontal damage reduction?
Say, they've got 720 HP like a premium medium, but 50% DR on the front, meaning attacking one head on gives it 1440 effective hit points (the same as a Churchill?).
That'd make them more effective at the spearheads they're designed for, but also much more rewarding to flank.

Increasing frontal armor and decreasing health would lead to heavies' survival rates being totally dependent on RNG, which would be frustrating on both sides.
Damage reduction on the other hand sounds like an excellent idea, but I'd imagine it'd be tricky to implement. |
The USF AAHT's fine. It's got a good gun but it's squishy.
The OKW one needs a serious buff if Battlegroup is to be relevant.
I like the OKW one but it does seem a bit underwhelming. IMO its damage and suppression are where they need to be (and only get better with vet), but I think it could use an acceleration buff and/or maybe a slightly shorter setup time, somewhere between half or 3/4 of what it is now. Those two changes would make it a lot easier to use IMO and would help it get away in conjunction with smoke. |
I think what made it broken was the ability to call in a techless AI medium tank on top of having the Puma, more than the Puma itself, as this combo gave an endless supply of call-in AT and AI without ever needing to go past T1. I think in hindsight the wrong vehicle was nerfed and what should've gotten put into tech was the Command P4 rather than the Puma.
Although of course making the Puma a call-in or only require T2 would risk seeing MobDef nearly every game again because an easily available Puma simply fixes Ostheer's most glaring weakness.

They could just both be made buildables, puma at t2 and command p4 at t3. That way you can't circumvent tech for either as it should be, and puma doesn't come at 11 minutes and be totally useless. |
I think we should nerf usf aaht. Starting with removing 37mm cannon. Its silly it can fight back versus some axis vehicles while supressing infantry. Usf aaht dominates in almost all game modes at every skill bracket, please tone it down.
Let's just remove a gun that's literally on the halftrack, just make it a prop lol.
The thing dies in 2 atg hits, just like okw flaktrack and soviet halftrack. It's an l2p issue. |
