Better question is why don't infantry sections get a snare. |
It does, but the sniper snare works different to most snares. If you manage to start the infantry snare animation you can be almost 100% sure it is going to hit. That is why driving through grens with light vehicle is not a good idea. In case of sniper snare, it has a significant aim time, that gets cancelled when the sniper has to rotate. So in fact it usually works only against stationary or slowly moving vehicles. If you know when the sniper is and drive in its direction, you will pass him before he is able to shoot the snare.
Huh didn't know that. I always thought the thing was really finnicky but I didn't know why. |
Obers are just overshadowed by volksgrenadiers right now. Way back when they were intended as the real AI specialists, but a volks blob does the same thing for significantly less manpower and micro. |
I like Thompson Paras a lot too, I just feel LMG Paras suplement a Riflemen build better, like how Obersoldaten can cover STG Volks when you rush for a Sherman/PZ4
Yeah. Logically I know that, yet I always get the Thompson upgrade just because they're so cool. They're also pretty scary at vet3 and it's an insanely cost efficient upgrade, but really the 1919s are the better upgrade. I usually get those if my rifles get wiped late game and I need more infantry (and my odd compulsion for thompsons is already fulfilled). |
No, its not unique to the rifle grenade. Any bullet, grenade, tank shell, mortar etc. that crosses a squad's green cover will deal half damage, which is why it seems weak sometimes. Meanwhile, squads in yellow cover clump, which compensates for RG's smaller AoE, and don't receive any damage reduction which is why it seems so lethal much of the time.
I always get anxiety when I tell my tommies to clump up in a bush or behind a fence while fighting grens. They get wiped like crazy from that shit. |
lol +1
Relic should give that magic "brace" ability to all fortifications (pak43, bunkers, etc) or to none. Why only Brits? Completily nonsense.
Lol brace on pak43. If we give brace to pak43 can we give the 17pdr the ability to go through houses and the range of a howitzer? |

The idea that a slow moving, short range, low armor unit would be used for flanking is a not-very-funny joke. Call it tea-and-biscuits flanking.
Yeah well that's apparently what's supposed to be happening. I flanked with an elefant once and honestly that was easier 0_o (for real, cuz my teammates sucked and gave up their side so I ended up getting rear hits on fireflies lol). |

I do think that with the current pathfinding the AEC doesn't really perform well in its intended role. Maybe an acceleration buff?
That's what I was thinking at the very least. It also seems to still have way more problems hitting its targets than other vehicles. I go into engagements thinking "gotta back this thing up, it's gonna get stuck and it's gonna miss that Luchs at least twice" and rarely am I wrong. |
I agree on the idea that CD barrage be decreased to be able to use it to barrage important garrisons and increase number of shell per barrage. I'm not on board with buffing AA as it makes it braindead mindless unit instead of promoting micro. If Pack Howies could lay waste to buildings by barrage its already a huge buff to USF that has to deal with MGs in stone buildings.
+1
Also, I think the "gimmick" of the unit is to be really like a mini howitzer, which means using the barrage. Buffed auto attack would unnecessarily turn it into an isg clone and I'd rather see it keep its unique strengths and corresponding weaknesses (although said weaknesses are a bit too much right now). |
LMG Paras are solid AI too, specially with a team of BARfinders just behind them, above Thompsons Rangers too due to having access to TA.
Thompson paras still do a great job too, especially at wiping retreating units with their ability (it's a deathtrap in combat though, they will get wiped if you attempt to use it on a squad that is firing on them, and will retreat super slow too). |
