If I remember correctly the ez8 is only slightly cheaper than the Jackson so yeah its kinda redundant to get a ez8 when you can wait an extra minute for a better at option.
The Jackson kinda took the role of the ez8 and made the ez8 redundant. A strong at brawler but one has 60 range and better pen. Therefore I think they should take the ez8 in a different direction and/or a price reduction.
Don’t forget that the ez8 can still kill infantry decently well. IMO the whole point of the tank is to be decent at both AT and AI, but obviously has to lose the regular Shermans HE shell. I’d still rather have an ez8 gun shooting infantry than a cromwell or comet gun, and you get the .50 cal upgrade, but it can still fight heavier tanks that the sherman would outright lose almost every time to. It’s also got more health and armor.
Again, ez8 doesn’t have to be god tier at everything for the commander to be good. The other abilities are the much bigger issue here. |
Since scatter distance is linearly affect by range, if the unit fire from low range then scatter is also low and the unit might no travel enough distance to collide if it misses.
Sorry if I missed it in an earlier post, but are other values like penetration also linear and does this apply to most weapons in the game (including infantry weapons)? I always kinda assumed they were just thresholds where if you were a meter over, then it’d apply the lesser value. |
How do you want to take advantage of Lt's light vehicles?
Actually using them instead of just recon support and .50 cal or heavy cav and captain every game. AAHT actually works pretty decent with recon support I guess, but I usually just make a .50 instead. |
Hmmm add me on steam and i think you invite to watch?
Yeah. Assuming this actually happens. |
Incendiary rounds kept on bragging about how pro he was because he beat loopdloop in a meme match.... hey loop would it be ok if i spectate ur rematch with incendiaryrounds?
Idk how to stream or if we will even have a rematch but I can add you on steam for the spectating thing.
Addendum: if it’s against forum rules to challenge 1v1s in threads like this I’ll stop though. Not tryna get banned. |
Mobile defense (for the puma) and a pak counter pretty much all of mechanized for the midgame. You might even consider getting 2 mg42s on maps with good garrisons as that will force him to get a mortar HT that’ll be a great target for the puma later on (or just suffer without any garrison clearing for a while). Take advantage of the fact that the rifles, while they’re hard to kill in the Jeep, just don’t have as much dps in total as manpower is spent on the dodge instead. Having him attack you with vehicle crews as infantry is actually beneficial to you because they have horrible dps and weapon crew sized RAs, and are like 30 mp to reinforce, so they’ll just bleed him a lot without actually doing anything. Take advantage of this; it’s almost free manpower bleed on him if he tries to use it like a combat squad. If he goes lt he won’t have atguns so your puma and tanks should have a pretty easy time stomping his units till he gets tanks (which will be delayed by halftracks and stuff) and if he goes captain he won’t have any suppression tools, so infantry heavy play will be hard for him to deal with for the most part. I mention this because mechanized doesn’t offer anything to remedy that perennial flaw in usf’s teching; no suppression and no proper at until the 76mm sherman, and no elite infantry to help his riflemen deal with yours. |
Just throwing this out there. If most tank cannons "near" range is 0, it's basically impossible to take advantage of the near range bonuses such as accuracy and penetration unless the barrel is jammed into your opponets tank. You think it may be better to make it a more accessible range like 3-4? Missing point blank shots because you're at 1 meter from target is unlikely, but feels like shit when it happens.
Wait this is a thing? That’s bizarre, and it’d be great if that was changed. Does jamming your tank into his tank even count as 0 range? |
I think the underlying problem with the EZ8 is because of 2 reasons.
1. It's AI isn't that of the HE sherman, so why would you build it over an HE sherman if you need AI.
2. If you need AT, which the EZ8 is good at, why wouldn't I just get a jackson that can outclass most armor pieces from my stock lineup.
As far as the rest of the doctrine goes I think it just needs a full overhaul. It won't be effective so long as the above 2 points exist, and giving it something great like riflemen field defenses and combining other things would make it borderline if not meta.
Versatility and being just good enough to do what’s demanded is sometimes a great tool though. Look at the ost p4 or t34/76. That’s a characteristic of both of them to an extent and it’s a characteristic of the ez8 on a slightly higher level. It’s also tougher than the rest of the usf armor roster and can actually bounce things once in a while.
+1 to overhaul. Overall a very weak commander that basically gets picked for flamers and ez8. |
Come on, dont do this :/
People should stop resorting to "1v1 me bro." It proves and solves nothing.
Yeah well earlier in the thread he kept talking about how he beat me (while I was meming) and that I need to l2p, conflating an experiment of a dumb strategy (1 riflemen ffs) with me actually trying. So I do want to “1v1 him bro”. |
I didn't say it's bad overall I just said it's bad compared to a regular sherman so there's never any reason to build it.
Being able to reliably fight tanks and still be able to kill infantry is nice. It has more health and enough armor to actually deflect things sometimes too.
I think rifle company sucks, but I don’t think ez8 is part of the problem. |
