Does anyone see a problem with making conscripts less RNG based (improving their accuracy) and possibly lowering their damage? Therefore maintaining or possibly improving their overall DPS to be inline with Axis backbone infantry? If this was obtained we wouldn't have to deal with maxim spam being the meta option once maxims are brought in line. Or alternativly we need to balance conscript upgrade commanders to become more meta. Conscripts with PPSHs are pretty decent against volks with oorah. But yeah Hector is right. OKW will steamroll soviets if maxims get nerfed and something doesn't step up to trade with volks. In: COH2 Balance |

Hey everyone on coh2.org ... Would anyone know how the flamerthrower works vs mp 44's on sturm pios. Im confused as to whether they improve dps outright or are just a counter to garrisons. Flamethrowers deal AoE damage in short bursts and the damage is dependant on model spacing. If models are clumped like in cover, all models hit will take damage. Each model can take a fixed damage per flame burst but the damage is amplified by green cover and garrisons and reduced by water. StG 44s are potent mid to close range weapons that has an exponentially higher DPS the closer you get to your target. The damage output is all based on rate of fire, damage and accuracy of the bullets. When standing at close range for maximum StG DPS, the StG 44 will outdamage the flamethrower if a squad is not clumped so the flamethrower is hitting only 1 model. If models are clumped the flamethrower can be more effective. Essentially: If models are clumped the flamethrower is more effective, if not the StG is probably stronger but I'd say it's still always worth the upgrade for the flamethrower if you don't need the sweeper or the schreck because it will force your opponet out of cover and to space out. I'll mentor you if you like. I know Hector already offered in a different post but if you havn't taken him up on it and like a different option you have me I can be an effective teacher but I'm aggressive and want you to improve. Meaning that I'll teach you what you want to know and reward you when you do good. I'll correct you when you do bad and i'll explain why you're doing things wrong. I'd be more of a casual mentor though. Not a fixed schedule but I'm online a lot of times. We can arranged a fixed schedule if you'd like though. Keep in mind I live in GMT-5 for time zone so we may have to play at night or morning. Unsure how you'd want to communicate. I can do voice but I prefer just steam messages. I'd say it's entirely based on what your opponets composition is and whether or not you're trying to force him into decisions. I can get 10 USF 75MM Shermans, and it'll force my opponet into mass AT. But with this build you don't have a form of infantry that can effectivly deal with his infantry and his AT weaponry at the same time. Tanks are also heavily countered by mines, infantry not as much (exlcuding ostheer S-mine) Also don't forgot you need infantry to capture territory. Less with USF because vehicles crews but still the crews can't deal with fully vetted Axis infantry. Short version is generally you want to aim for a well rounded composition so you can deal with all threats you may come up against. If you're heavy on one end of your composition your opponet can exploit it. |

Interesting and good to know facts. Much obliged HM-120 is 340 manpower I believe. I don't doubt the potency of the OH mortar. I know it was regarded the best mortar until the USF mortar overshadowed it. LeIG doesn't perform great for 330 manpower but everyone knows that unit is horrid for its cost/popcap but that unit needs its own string of reworks in its own regard. In: COH2 Balance |

I simply don't know how to post replays here, in fact I didn't know you could, I will investigate, the leig in this replay scores over 50 kills, although I will concede it takes time to damage garrisoned units. When in the "new reply" box and you're constructing your response, look at the far right of the tools bar and you'll see a red star. This star is the "insert replay" function. Click it, insert the replay URL that you've copied from the replay section you want to insert. Click done. Using the quick reply box is handy when you don't want the tools of the full reply box, but full reply box > quick reply box. In: Replay Reviews |
