Paras are 28mp to reinforce. That's what I crew them with, just cuz it's nice to be able to reinforce from the beacons after you get pushed by inf a bit or a leig hits the crew or whatever. On top of that, you don't have a lot of cheaper options as usf for weapon crewing; the only thing cheaper than 28 being rear echelons, which aren't that much cheaper (25mp). I think the airdrop reinforce is worth the 3 extra manpower to reinforce, considering the pack howie won't be losing a ton of crew members like a real infantry squad, but when it does, you can stay on the field for that much more time instead of pulling it back.
Should use Survival Instincts then, so Paratrooper models have the same RA as Rifles, 0.97 |
My only gripe is the changes to Recon. I'm used to it by now, and I'm OK with the AT gun being gone and CP3 airdrop rework, but I feel like the changes to the pack howie were unnecessary.
That, and the increase in price of I&R Pathfinders is too expensive. They should be a cheaper unit, maybe 270mp is a reasonable middle ground. I'm fine with the delay to spawn them too now that I'm used to it, I played Recon all the time when they were 1CP and had no problems with that either, even though I always wished they were 0CP at the time. If they decrease the price of I&R AND Airborne Pathfinders I'll be very happy. Right now at 290mp I don't have much incentive to build either unit outside of getting one squad for its LOS when I need that.
Outside of this, the game is pretty decent, not too many issues in any factions, and there's been a lot of positive changes lately, such as giving UKF a snare through Royal Engineers, and the changes to JLI.
I'd honestly rather have IRs back at CP1 and costing 250mp myself. |
Riflemen buffs would completly brake the game at this point. USF was weak before all the changes but now they are actually the best allied faction for 1v1 and 2v2 (depending on map and match-up). No way should they get a buff to their mainline infantry.
What?
How are they better than Soviets?
Specially vs OKW. |
Just OKW Things. |
Allied Artillery has very little Friendly Fire.
I guess I can finally say it myself: "Assymetrical Balance". |
That's what the Stuart's for.
Stuart + Greyhound is a lot of fuel, but maybe it could work, I'll see if I can try it. |
I Agree, having simple things such as Cav riflemen or (which is literally rifleman with better CQC and a snare) mixes things up a little, its honestly just what was needed.
I like the revamped mechanised in general, it Feels like it covers most bases, up until mediums hit the field. I honestly dont think they need a buff (rifles), because even though they come online at vet 2, the bonuses received make it worth it. if there were a buff, i'd really only want a slightly lower reinforcement cost, because its biggest weakness is manpower bleed, but every faction has to have their downfalls, for USF its inft cost and limited lategame (but hey, at least I can still be competitive in the late game).
To be honest, I don't rely much on Cav rifles. Yeah they have great CQC, but closing the distance to use that power sometimes proves troublesome, unless shotblockers are involved. I usually only have maybe 2 at most in my lineup, rifleman can engage earlier, and usually trade down less.
Ass Engies were never really intended to take into late game inft, and were usually better suited for utility roles. Mines, demos, repair speed and critical repair.
The only buff I think Rifles need is veterancy bonuses being spreaded more evenly than massive buffs at vet2 and 3. |
Riflemen need a little buff, otherwise all is well, USF doesn't feel as weak anymore even vs OKW. |
Yeah lets just forget that this commander also got overpowered Jaegers and busted Stuka loiter. Oh and how nice of balance team to bundle 3 abilities into one slot (forward receivers, goliath, flares). Totally not biased btw.
Don't forget the Howitzer that is safely covered by the retreat point and the flak. |
Pack Howitzer currently has zero chances to survive any direct hit in the gun, it gets wiped 100% of the time now by anything coming close to it, I guess the nerf worked as intended. |
