Why, though? How come a community website is so staunchly opposed to disenfranchising people who are such toxic community members? What does coh2.org stand to gain from such a stance?
It blows my mind that a website would go "oh just ignore it" rather than take action. Why is ensuring that trolls remain unhindered so much more important to coh2.org than providing any sort of buffer for community members from harassment?
Because those people are part of this community ?
Because banning assumed trolls would mean this portal is reserved to some members deemed worthy of it, thus creating sub communities ?
Its a forum here and looks like to me if some were not obnoxious they could progress. |
Shame on the people responding "don't feed the troll". trolling is something completely different from harassing and bullying.
And I don't agree you can simply tell to someone harassed or bullied, -You are looking from it with your attitude. Nobody deserves to be harassed because of its personality on a twitch channel/game or wherever.
You don't like someone twitch channel or attitude, just don't go there, it exists absolutely 0 valid reason to harass someone. I think each of our respective country has laws upon harassment problems and feeling free to do it on internet because of the law limitation between countries is really pathetic.
In this case, who knows enough personally shadowwada to be sure he isn't going to do something really stupid with himself if this continues/isn't solved?
I have not a single clue about what happens between shadowwada and Barton/Sprice, but honestly I feel bad with the kind of responses provided here.
For sure this thread isn't a really good idea, we all know that from experience, but it also shows the level of distress the Author has.
What is your definition of trolling then ?
If you go public under the image of an overly competitive guy I think you should be prepared to meet people whose fun is to beat overly competitive guys over and over and who are prepared to use any weapon at their disposal. |
After what has been said previously about your attitude wada and Barton's pow have to admit he got a point.
Dunno if you act as the egocentric guy on stream but when taken that way it's really fun to watch.
As well it's fun to watch sprice, Barton or even Von using unusual strategies, especially when having a double pow (in Von's case some games against Paula were just hilarious).
That participates into keeping the community alive (# of replies on so-called drama threads is on proof) ; after all streaming is entertainment so either do "PRO 1v1" streams like Luvnest/Hans and strengthen up to become iron nerved or keep the egocentric attitude and be prepared to be targeted by other fun-orientated prominent members of the community.
Keep it up man, your streams are pretty liked it seems and to me a good mix of try hardness, didactic and fun show.
And if you are not acting, well, Internet is probably not the best place to be an attention whore when a bit too sensitive and/or lacking self confidence. |
[...]There will always be haters (especially when they feel strong on the internet). I kinda feel you got the wrong attitude towards this kind of behaviour, raging in general (as I've seen a couple of clips popping out lately of you). Trolls will take advantage of that behaviour. If you let them, you just give them the satisfaction and attention they want.
Don't wanna be rude or anything, but you just might wanna get a thicker skin in that regard.
+1
You look cool on stream wada, don't feed the troll and behave like the dream californian guy we all wanna be.
And dont forget, tournament money coming... mind games... dunno, just an hypothesis.
Its just a game after all...
Or are you member of the trolling gang ? |
win rate would be .5 only if the ladder was infinite. As it is finite, the closer you are to an end the higher the possibility that you will find opponent from the huge "middle" part instead of the small "end" part, for example if you are top 100 there is only a 100 people better than you and none of them may be searching, so you more often get matched with people worse than you than better.
If a player has played under 10 matches, his/her stats are not included. So, that is why the average win rate is a bit higher than 0.5 when top 500+ is selected.
When top 250 is selected, win-ratio is clearly higher than 0.5 since all games played by top 250 players are counted. So, if a player (rank 150) won a player (rank 700), the victory would be counted. The lose wouldn't be counted because the ranking of the loser was worser than 250.
All righty, makes perfect sense.
A bit gobsmacked by the "high" win rate of OST 1v1 500+ ; especially compared to UKF which seems to be the same kind of slow start strong late faction but easier to play. |
Nice job.
Just a "silly" question - that may have been asked before : how comes that the average win rate is not .5 ? |
While I agree with the general idea of what OP is saying (insane vet is insane), it's really only terrible when playing as Ost.
Isn't Vet mechanic broken atm ? Sooo... how could we say that it is Veterancy that makes those units terminators ? |
Yes that is exactly it. |
Ty !
Could a mod move the subjet into the relevant section since it's obviously lack of knowledge rather than a bug ? |
Hi, I remember seeing those 1,2 {3-8} indicators on the map preview in the lobby (as well as in the map selection) however they don't anymore.
Not a major bug but quite annoying when having to place a specific player/faction at a specific pos.
What could be done to restore them ?
