So... do you still want a replay?
Yes, I do. Still want to see a way to try out Volk-limited strategy.

Sturms are ok, but they suffer from diminishing marginal utility. It's too much to constantly charge at the enemy with. Sturms also become vet dependent very fast as more elite infantry hits the feild. Also you were kind of a dick. I still don't understand the increased utility of two scout cars over one when you could get volks. Well, now look back, this kinda is a meme strategy, but I just want to try out what I once heard: A guy came up with the idea of No-Volk strat, but he never tell how. I even heard he went 4 Kubels, not 2. I already try to torn down the memeness of that strategy and try to make it a thing. But again, the future of this tactic is very much uncertain. P/s: Anyways, thank you for willing to help me. I don't hate Volks (I love them actually... in a non-sexual way) but i'm just trying to see can OKW works out without heavily rely on normal 3 Volks build, and i'm being serious about this! Sturm Offizier "Mark Target" ability (+ 50% received accuracy to targeted squad. All nearby infantry squads will prioritize their targeting to the Sturm Offizier's target ~ According to The CoH2 Ability Guide). The offizier's aura just kinda meh, I guess, but this ability though. I haven't truly utilize it to its highest capacity but just imagine how good it can get. I mean, extra 50% received accuracy (Literally marked for death)! If only the marked target would get some kind of slow down effect (Like the Mark target at tanks from Guards) then this thing would destroy or even wipe the important squad that you want to kill. At least that's what I think it is . In: COH2 Gameplay |

Another problem here is the intense micromanagement the 2 kubels require. I barely can micromanage 1! 2 seems almost impossible to me... I would lose them very soon. Going 3 Sturm would work if the battle happens in an urban area, in my opinion. Sure when charging through with 12 StG44s, literally no squad can handle that. However, to pull out 3 Sturm squads and turn into a group, it would take quite some time, consider the fact that 1 Sturm squad cost 300 MP and rather expensive to reinforce (30 MP per model). It would work well if you can set up ambush, but to be safe, 2 would work just fine. Also, 2 Kubels are not that hard to micro, especially in open area, just keep them firing at max range (They deal more damage at further range for some reason) and slowly backing away when they get uncomfortably close. 2 Kubels would usually drop Rifleman and Conscript models like flies. I also rarely see people (Including myself) do this but with 2 Kubels, you can away destroy 1 at your base by yourself and scavenge it for 5 fuels which basically one-third of the fuel needed to open field medics. One extra reason to go 2 Kubels, I guess . In: Strategy Desk |

William, I don't think you have a leg to stand on here. You and your partner both played pretty bad in this game. The guy with the penal blob kind of was too. However, he didn't say OKW was OP either. It's his opinion that OKW is the strongest faction. I don't know that we can really make a determination of which faction is the strongest unless we resort to global statistics. That's the thing! There is no faction right now that is the strongest or the weakest! I never assume this faction is stronger or weaker since it depends on the map, strategy, and many other factors. The game has change and I must admit, it's fairly balance overall. Some may got a slight edge but overall, it's balance than ever since the release of the WFA. However, when someone just state out OKW being OP or the strongest one without considering other factors is just plain crap! That Soviet said it! He claim OKW to be the strongest! And yes, I have no right to immediately change his perspective, but we can all influent it, let them relize the real facts by themselves. Also, again, I already state in the first place: Don't mind the replay! I was trying out new tactic in that match for the first time (Trying No-Volk strategy and see how viable it can be) so of course, I won't be at my top shape! The only reason I use this replay was to point out that 1 specific line spoken by the Soviet player to prove my point in this post. If you want to review my replay, please go ahead but post it here: https://www.coh2.org/topic/56618/2v2-no-volks-strategy-vs-penal-blobs . However, I would very much appreciate reviews that talk about how I can improve the No-Volk strategy. In: Lobby |

Why the hell you won't make the best infantry in the game?! It called trying out new tactic, dude. And by the way, Volks are not the best infantry in the game. If not consider elite infantry, it would be Rifleman, not Volks. In: Replays |

Seems like a bit of a meme strategy. I get where you're coming from, i.e. viewing Pfus as a better investment than volks, but there are a few problems I see specific to this strategy. I have't got a chance to face USF or UKF but I got a chance against Sov, and in the replay here, it's not that hard to hold out against them (I even push them out hard early game with 2 Kubels) but I see the problem that you have mentioned: Panzerfusilliers vet up slower, which make them them inferior to vet 3 Penal (In this case, a horde of 4 Penal squads ). I thought in theory, Panzerfusilliers should be better than Volks (Being 6-man and good long-range with 3 G43s upgrade) but the vetting up is what make them scale weaker than Volks. If only they vet up around the same speed as Volks, this strategy would work gloriously (AT least against Soviet), especially since I think Panzerfusilliers would deal with Penals better than Volks. It's unsporting to complain about the way an opponent is playing during a match. I'm not surprised you're getting a negative response. I'm not talking about the negativity in the conversation, which i'm fully awared of my unsporting action (I already said I was too mad, I lost my mind back then, things happened man. We are humans after all). What I want to point out is that specific line spoken by the Soviet player, the one that he claim me playing as the strongest faction in the game. That kind of idea is what i'm trying to refer to, the core thing in people's mentalities! They still think OKW being the strongest, which make everything they done to win just seems worth it. No, they are not! Especially when you blob Penals and think you win fair and square. In: Lobby |

Don't mind the replay. It's just me failing while trying out new tactic. However, pay attention to the conversation at around the mid to late of the game where i basically mad at those Soviet players for blobbing. And what was one of the player answer was? Still claiming OKW to be the strongest faction! Like, are you f*cking kidding me!? You (or his teammate, i don't even care back then) blob with that huge ass Penal blob (Like 4-6 squads), steam roll through my army like there was nothing there, and you still claim OKW to be the strongest!? What a bloody joke! Like, seriouly, how can this still be a thing even though the patch has been out for like 3 months? or 2? Basically quite a long time already and still there are these kind of people still imagine OKW to be somewhat OP like before patch! What the heck, man!? In: Lobby |
Thread: [2v2] No-Volks Strategy vs Penal blobs21 Sep 2016, 11:35 AM
So I was trying out a new strategy that I have heard long ago and haven't truly test it out: The No-Volk strategy, which basically means Panzerfusilliers replace Volks as main-line infantry. And to be honest, I can see a big potential in it, but there is a problem: Blobs (Penal blobs in this case). So I hold out early with 2 Sturms and 2 Kubel fairly well. My initial expectation was too hold out, but end up pushing pretty far. I think I did good in passing through the hardest part of the strategy: Hold out till Panzerfusilliers come out. However, the hardest part is not yet to come. The Soviet player come back with a huge Penal blob (Like 4 squads... 4 FREAKING SQUADS) and just steam roll me. I did manage to hold out with MG34s and inflict quite a lot of MP bleed but that just not enough! They have way better indirect-fire weaponry while also still be able to get rocket arties (Katy) while I, however, can only get Stuka but unable to get ISGs. I know some mistakes I made like lost the Schwere, lost 2 Pumas for not paying attention. However, I still can't see a way where I can deal with that massive Penal blobs. Hope someone can help me out here. Also, I'm RoyalWeapon in the replay. P/s: This is kinda off-topic but the Soviet dude still claimed OKW to be the strongest faction. Like, seriously!? I'm sorry but after writing a post about people's mentalities toward OKW, that just make me feel even more outrageous!! In: Replay Reviews |
