30 MU mines are always worth it. You know, an Ostheer player would love to get access to that 30-MU mine, cause it's way less situational than the S-mine. That 2-model kill, plus the warning of an incoming enemy attack are always the best thing (It literally acts as an early warning, saves you from an unexpected flank)
Ostheer is the only faction suffering from blatant munitions starvation.
No other faction in the game has any problem with munitions whatsoever, so I really don't think this is a concern.
Since the S-mine field consists of 4 squares, each costs 15 MU, why don't just make it so you can only plant 1 square for 15 MU, not the entire 60 MU field? Of course, you can still do that with careful planting and immediately stop when done with planting one, but that's just not how normal mining works.
Yeah, I'm back, baby! Back with my all-time favorite faction: Wehrmacht (Yes, I recently enjoyed USF, but deep down in my heart, it's the almighty Wehrmacht!). Trying out Festung Armour vs Shock Rifle Frontline Tactic, quite a rough start, but I came back strong with a fist full of Panzers (Mainly StuGs, but Panzers!)!
The hulldown Flakpanzer probably even stronger than the Schwere itself, I think (The RoF is insane, lol!). Gotta do that more often
Facing a top-400, slightly turtling OKW player,... Man, it was like a bloody massacre... a meat grinder, maybe. Double Jacksons still kicked ass as usual (3 Panzers downed under their names out of 5 dead Panzers) , while my Sherman's microing skill still crap ... Oh yeah, the M20 mines are great! Just 1 went off out of 2 that I managed to plant though, but that one was worth it.
Now, I must admit, USF feels way better for my playstyle. Thanks to all that suggested me to play this wonderful faction.
Anyways to make a comeback as OKW you usually need your T4 tech. Volks start to lose out as BARs/Guards with DP28s/penals/brens come online. Obers if picked up early enough can really carry you through the lategame. If your T4 goes down as OKW in the lategame you're pretty much good as dead unless your opponet makes some mistakes or you don't lock in panic panther.
Well, in this case, my T4 still lived... However, the mid VP on this map screwed me over for being too narrow and too easy at getting bogged down. About Obers, yeah I always get them anyways, but they just love to stick so tightly around each other that 1 M8A1 shot can completely wiped them out... Still waiting for the squad-spacing and smoke for OKW. (Meanwhile, I have been playing USF recently and oh boy! Smoke feels good, man!)
I tried to consolidate my forces and managed to secure a fuel point because of it, but I was still facing off two panthers by the time my T34-76 arrived, sniper did well and survived the whole game though, did spot an idle unit, I need to sort that out, mind you he had even more idle units than I did, I think I may just have to live with the fact I'm useless at this game
Oh don't be so negative about yourself, man! You're better than that, i'm sure. Take it from a person who lost to you in a fair fight and respect your playstyle, you aren't useless. All you need was to have a clear vision of what you're going to do. One of the most important things you have to do in every single game is to at least have a stable field control, which means that early on, consolidate your men to one area and fight for it! That's your first target and your battle ground cause only from there will you advance. The OKW player in this match actually not that strong. You were just lack of a clear plan, which led to the collapse of your field presence and the losses of your men. Just have a tactic in your mind before you enter the match then work around it.
I took a look at your replay since I have nothing to do ... and yeah, take this review if you think it's fine enough, but still, maybe a strategist would do it better (In the spoiler).
From a person who plays Axis most of my playtime, damn USF is pretty hard to play as (No, not the blobbing way!!). Respect to USF players who actually play tactically and don't rely on blobbing to Pershing to win! (I chose to play hardcore and went for LT and Airborne... Man that was rough early on... Luckily, he didn't manage to stand his ground at later stage).
P/s: Double Jacksons kicked ass! Why would you even want Pershing? Kinda overrated in my opinion.
Well, seeing as no other blobs work as good as USF...
You only blob when you choose to... It's not like heavy-infantry play = blobbing. Those are two different things... Besides, I'm far from those blobbers. I have faced enough blobs in my 2v2 experience to say f*ck off, blobs!
