Just ran the numbers. Assuming you buy nothing else, this is the amount of fuel you need to get to purchase your first light vehicle:

AEC: 30+15+50-20=75
Stuart: 60+70-15=115
Luchs: 15+55+65-10=125

So obviously the AEC arrives way, way faster than other comparable vehicles. Like way too fast.

Except both Ost and OKW have schrecks which can zone the AEC. UKF don't have any reliable handheld AT to zone the 222 or Luchs. If Piats weren't terrible then we wouldn't have this problem and I think most people would be fine if the AEC buff got reverted or somehow fitted into a Puma role rather than AT/AI.

Yeah I play UKF, and the AEC is overperforming. UKF is easier to play than ostheer for me. Think grenadiers but more jacked, and no issues with light armor. Thats UKF imo.

The AEC can self spot for itself with 50 sight range, while regular light tanks have 35. It comes sub 6 minutes while other light tanks come atleast a minute later. Its capable of fighting infantry and serving as effective light AT. Has 400 health + non doc smoke.

Sight to 35, research time increased 45 seconds. Possibly fuel increased from 50 to 60. Research mp 100 to 80, AEC 340 mp to 280.

yeah... no. That's kicking it in the dick, no one would use it if it was even more expensive. If the AEC were to be nerfed then it should be reverted back but made cheaper to deal with light tank threat but not kill infantry as hard. But that's assuming it is OP and the general consensus is UKF right now aren't doing so hot, I rarely see them being used in higher level play.

Also I don't know who you're playing but I don't know what to say if you think UKF is easier than Ost. Not to discredit Ost players but Ost gets a lot of options from their tech buildings while UKF needs to commit to the same options (Mortar pit can only be built with REs and can't be moved. AEC needs to be researched and then built and locks out Bofors, grenades and weapon racks must also be researched, further delaying your tanks. OKW and Ost both get grenades and weapons as installs once you reach a certain tier.

Not say UKF sucks but you need to make a lot of choices to get them to shine.

AT guns are a viable counter to any light vehicles bigger than a kubel/WC 51/M3. the setup time just means that they require positioning and attention.

Luchs and the 222 are heavily mobile, the Luchs takes 3 AT shots to take down. Any non retarded OKW player will simply hit and run your units, forcing retreats, Sturms are also good at repairs so they can get back up fast, not to mention the repair half truck.

UKF's only reliable solution is the AEC, Piats suck.

I judge the commanders by how many abilities I use. Alas, none are very good.

Commando Regiment is not bad, as the are great close in, but too expansive for what are really shock troops with a base building. The Air superiority is good, but wont always kill an OKW base, and is very slow. The other arty is meh.

Royal Artillery Regiment is not as good as US, with Priest, etc. Sexton is so underpowered. I like the Valentine, although it is vulnerable. The arty barrage is very powerful.

I often select Royal Engineer Regiment when an emplacement is about to die. Doesn't work that well. Flame mortar is pretty useless, and AVRE is hard to use, and dies easily, and cant destroy tanks or OKW buildings. OK with blobs, but easy to miss.

you're using the avre wrong, it's a churchill so i don't know why it "dies easily" lol. It's very easy to wipe squads, especially support teams and the reload time is quite short, shorter than most artillery that don't even guarantee the wipe. Combine that with emergency repairs and heavy engineers from anvil and you have a tough AVRE. Buy an AT gun and a firefly for AT and you have a solid defense.

You find out where the thing you want to demolish is, then bring your AVRE up, wait a second or two to see if they'll retreat the squad if it's normal infantry and then fire off a shot. It also does 60% to OKW half trucks so they'll need to get repairs asap otherwise the AVRE will come kill it next time.

Vanguard is OK but the strafing support is unusable against OKW because it gets shot down by the Flak half truck so NEVER take Vanguard against OKW.

Special Weapons is pretty good too, Hold the Line is excellent for holding out against the enemy's all in invades, it has the Croc like Vanguard and concentrated fire can be used to kill OKW half trucks.

Royal Engineers is also good if you have an early mortar and need it repaired fast. Also the AVRE is again an excellent unit for taking out stuff, most people will retreat their units the moment they see it because it WILL wipe squads no sweat. It's also only 600/155. Emergency repairs is also great for repairing more than one tank in a short amount of time.

Royal Artillery sucks and Commandos are ok, mortar cover is decent but commandos aren't that good of a unit anymore.

I usually float between special weapons or royal engineer. Maybe Vanguard if i know my air support won't get shot down.
