Surely increasing the cost would have to opposite effect to that intended? If it costs more fuel then the Brit player will never be able to break out and fight a more mobile game with armour. Only option would be to build another bofors.
If it is that annoying sure better to place a max limit on their number? Can't say I use them much though. |
Can't see any good reason why you'd need more than 2 ISGs, mortar pits or Rocket Arty pieces so yes, would be a change for the better in my opinion. |
I completely agree, there should be no get out of jail card for snipers. If they are being hit on the retreat then a wipe should be very likely. |
That doesn't make any sense.
If you think people are going to pick the tank that has less armour, less speed, less maneuverability, a worse gun, worse abilities and spends less time on the field because of the side techs then you are bonkers.
Picking it because it will give slightly less xp to the opposition is an even worse reason. In fact a hilariously bad one. |
Think you might be on your own there dude, even if it worked, which it doesn't.
You seem to be sidestepping the issue, the Comet isn't slightly better than the Churchill, it blows it out of the water, for the same cost.
Maybe it's a cultural thing but I think most reasonable people would think that Anvil was a poor choice in comparison to Hammer due to the crapness of the Churchill.
Ergo Churchill needs a buff ( or a de-nerf) as it invalidates an entire tech tree. You've even described it yourself as being an asset to the opposition.

"Hammer vs Anvil is not Comet vs Churchill"
Hmmm, well yes it is. Every other ability is a complete sideshow compared to the armour. Are you seriously telling me that you would pay 200MP and 50FU for Gammon bombs or increased sight range from strat points? Utter rubbish man, you choose one and lock the other out, it is a straight choice and a comparison which at the moment is stark in favour of the Comet due to at least 5 nerfs to the Churchill.
The faction design also calls for a heavy tank to give the Brits a powerful late game. If I recall correctly the Brit late game should be stronger than OKWs, which certainly isn't the case! What can possibly draw a Tiger's fire from one shot wiping your infantry squads? Or face up to the truly monstrous TDs that the Axis can use? |
It should be a heavy tank, regardless of cost. Giving it's light armament and very slow speed it has to compensate with armour.
If it has to cost 250FU for 340+ armour then so be it, it will merely be a pale comparison to the Comet otherwise. |
It wasn't in a good place before the most recent nerf, hardly used, and with the Comet getting a buff it makes even less sense. You don't get free engineers with it, at best you'll need to spend an extra 70 munitions and more likely 140.
Comet is cheaper, takes less popcap, spends more time on the field rather than being repaired and is more effective all round.
Whatever the cost the Churchill should be a heavy tank, not a medium which lingers.
Even comparatively if fails, though the popcap and manpower needed are reasons not to go Anvil. Sometimes I will to repair a Croc as a luxury but the Croc is effectively slightly cheaper ( as you don't specifically need the 200MP 50FU Anvil, two of whose abilities don't work) and worth the popcap.
The free vet for enemy tanks is purely down to it's lack of armour, it is just two PIVs bolted together. In it's current state it isn't worth the price or the popcap. |
"They appear to be the worst performing faction at the tournament level"
Might be my eyes that are wrong but I can hardly recall seeing a final or semi which didn't see OKW. |
Not convinced I've won a game with this commander. Against anyone with half a brain the counter battery just doesn't work. Shoot and scoot - not rocket science really. Even if they don't it doesn't exactly seem to bleed them dry, or do much at all. I've still had three mortars merrily killing my troops whilst watching a nice fireworks show.
Meanwhile you are stuck building nothing but Tommies and Vickers. Precision barrage is fantastic, the rest of it trash or team game orientated. |
