Thread: Starting out in 1v1 how do i read the situation correctly?13 Jan 2017, 17:34 PM
Okay, I watched it ^^ The commanders you are using are mostly for teamgames, you may want to consider swapping "festung support" with "mechanized assault" or "lightning war" - but commanders all come down to taste. T1 placement - you should've placed it a bit more forward to reduce the time your infantry has to walk, therefore increasing your map control in an indirect way. Fuel > VP, especially in the early game - Your capping order was something like: cutoff - VP - standard point - fuel This should look like the following: cutoff - fuel - standard - VP This is because you need to try to outtech your opponent, VPs are just there to serve as a psychological warfare weapon. Really nice sniper support, but be careful for countersnipers (mostly it'll be the british, but sov can go T1 too) Should've bought a 222 or PG instead of 2nd sniper. Tho it seen great usage too, but in the 7th min mark you need to prepare for enemy light vehicles (especially given that AEC timing is insane) Always seek cover (not just sniper, with every troop, but sniper dies really fast) - your troops were mostly standing still in the middle of nowhere. Your sniper capped left VP out of cover. You need to always hide your snipers. Don't fight 222 vs AEC 1on1 and try to plant tellers on possible vehicle pathing routes. 13 min mark: should've chased down that almost 0 health retreating section, brits don't have snare, AEC needed repairs and PIATs are not homing rockets in the live game. Don't invest in more than 2-3 222s, because a cromwell is invulnerable vs them and even AEC can wreck them if caught isolated. Harass cutoffs if you can, especially fuel cutoff - this way your biggest problem. You often had the opportunity to go and cutoff the enemy from his fuel yet you never did it. Supply trucks aren't that helpful on standard points, should've put it on fuel point - a truck on fuel gives you +4 / min if i remember correctly. 19.20 min mark: still no pak - says enough I fear Should be a bit more careful with vehicles - your first P4 micro was a bit sluggish and a bit like you don't know what to do with it, but the rest of it (against the comets) were super nice Close in with PGs whenever you can - their max range damage output isn't bad, but they're great for CQC, they could've flanked the sections most of the time Try to steal abandoned team weapons, or destroy them if you don't need them at all (tho that 6pdr ATG could've really come in handy) - and he couldn't have used it against you again. British metagame is always AEC, fast cromwell/comet, be prepared for it. Always upgrade less vetted PGs with shrecks (schreck lets them vet up really fast) + try to have 1-1 unupgraded/upgraded PG, don't upgrade all of them, it severely limits your AI capatility. Never send in lone units to a point next to enemy base. It only feeds them vet and bleeds you unnecessarily. Always try to order your damaged tanks back for repairs if possible (ie: not backing a retreating squad) You dealt with them really nicely, gg wp, pleasure to watch Hope I helped ^^ In: Replay Reviews |

For the Mech Comp I would say that it could be the same, with the M3 changed to M5 and those assault engies should get an option to upgrade to thompson for 90 muni instead of flamer. Hence it's an assault group, I would expect it to be it. For Recon Support, I would pick 2 para squads (without the team weapons), one with the double M1919s and the other with zooks (as those vCoH recoilless rifle are nonexistent there). So this way you would have 2 squads that are meant to be support for other inf. Make their vet according to their role if needed. Also reduce price a tad bit. What is it in the live game? 900 MP? |
Thread: [1v1] Soviet vs Turtle OST1 Jan 2017, 20:44 PM
Thanks! 1 - Yes, T1 is only good because penals beat most of the units early game and vet up quickly, but become obsolete as the game develops 2 - If you don't do it, use keybinds/control groups (ctrl + "number 0-9", tho num0 isn't working for me) and always cycle between squads if you don't need to pay attention to a specific squad fighting or scouting 3 - Light tanks aren't good for them. Either use ATGs or mediums or assault guns for it. They have good damage/shell with considerable pen, so they'll reliably wreck them in no time. 4- Regarding T-34s. You could've also used them for those jobs, as they are inexpensive, easily replaceable and you had tons of resources for a new one. Don't worry if you lose one or 2 in a game, that's why they're here In: Replay Reviews |

So I watched your replay, and here's some thoughts on what you could catch up next time Never in any circumstance place squads on top of eachother. This could result in severe casualties if hit by IDF (indirect fire) units, or, as in your case a lot of times, you rushed a HMG with 2 squads head-on. Try to split them up, because: 1: MG42 has horrible gun traverse 2: HMGs can't suppress 2 squads simultaneously in 2 different positions Started building T1 in the 3 min mark - You either build it right off the bat or get T2. Getting it that late could've been ended very badly as an early 222 would've wreaked havoc, meaning the end of your M3's life and your game. Too much squad idling - Your troops were often caught idling around the map. Either in base fully reinforced and healed or in the rear lines. Multitasking (engi could've gotten out of that M3HT and repair it, not just sit in it and cap the cutoff) 8.30 min mark - low health squads, no medic, yet a lot of MP. Could've gotten a medic for 250 instead of reinforcing all the squads, it pays off in the long run 12 min mark - almost 300+ muni float, plant mines, demos, anything really. You planted them scattered across the battlefield, but left out important places, like chokepoints and etc. 14.30 min mark - 1k+ mp float, a mortar or 2 could've really helped you out as you couldn't deal with the double hmg, + a maxim for own cutoff defend would've been nice too, also that SU-76 was unnecessary (he was nowhere near getting a vehicle), could've teched to T4 and get katy or T-34. A good katy often spells death for enemy turtling Use 76 barrage if bought - it's not post-patch WBP, it's still free and tearing down that house with the MG42 in it would've helped your forces greatly. Too much passivity, mostly due to squad idling. You weren't offensive enough, weren't defensive enough. You were simply passive. Not attacking enemy positions, not planting mines on important routes and setting up mortars and hmgs to defend you point. Nothing like that. Your squads were moving from one point to another in parallel to the frontline 28.20 min mark - Main gun crit P4, no ATGs, only 1 gren on the other side of the map yet you didn't chase it down with that T-34..he couldn't have stopped it and it would've been gg Destroy abandoned team weapons if you can't recrew them. Of course only if you can, this is easier said than done, and it's only OKW that can regularly deal with them w/o issues. However try planting a demo on it if you can. Hope I could help you out Better luck next time, you were good, but need to be a bit more aggressive and all will be fine In: Replay Reviews |
