This explains why my Tommies and Royal Engineers bleed so badly late-game despite being in cover 90% of the time. |
"The sniper isn't meant to be countered. It's just meant to bleed Allied players for hundreds of MP over an entire game, without an answer."
That's pretty much what I'm seeing in this thread. |
Yeah, the Universal Carrier. It basically nullifies the early OKW threat since neither the Kubel nor the Sturmpios can do anything to it. The only caveat is it doesn't scale well into late-game and you have to be careful with it since it cannot be repaired until T2 or vet 1.
While it DOES currently delay T2 a bit, I'd say the trade-off is worth it since otherwise you risk losing the game outright early on. If Brits lose early, they generally lose the game in my experience. |
Here is the secret to beating the tar out of OKW early game as Brits, and by early game I mean the initial engagement when Sturmpios are a terrifying threat:
Build a Bren first.
Seriously. Do it.
Not only does the Bren nullify the Kubel rush, it will also shred Volks and especially Sturmpios. Additionally, the Bren has enough mobility to reach the field and safeguard your Tommies while they're building a front line trench on an important point.
Of course, I'm speaking of 2v2 match-ups here as I do not play 1v1. It might be different in that game mode, but I've had a lot of success rushing Bren against OKW players because they are very predictable and generally do the same exact thing every game. |
WHOOPS. I always mistake them for Fallschirmjagers.
My bad. |
The only thing I want changed about them is the fact they can pop out of any house on the map. Meanwhile, paratroopers have to risk losing models to drop onto the field.
There is zero risk when spawning PFs and they will then proceed to wipe setup teams and snipers before you have a chance to react.
They should have to drop onto the field like paratroopers, and should risk losing models on a bad drop just like they do.
EDIT: Mixed up Fallschirmjagers and Panzerfusiliers. Disregard. |
I saw 3 Tigers in my last 2v2 game, and I used a total of 3 Crocodiles in that game.
I've seen plenty of heavy tanks. |
Nerfed IS without giving them increased utility to compensate (AT snare? Free grenades that don't suck?).
Nerfed Sniper without bringing them in line with other snipers. No defined role.
Nerfed Churchill/Crocodile yet again. For no reason.
Nerfed Heavy Engineer upgrade twice as hard as it needed to be.
Didn't touch worthless emplacements, worthless AEC, worthless Universal Carrier, no reliable indirect fire, no anti-garrison tools.
RIP Brits.

It could definitely be faster now that the damage has been nerfed to more reasonable numbers.
I only ever get it to vet 3 during games against bad players who don't get a stug against me. |
So, first of all: You're wrong.
Brit artillery call-ins DO require vision to use. I would know since I, you know, play Brits.
Maybe stop whining about every single thing and spreading misinformation to suit your agenda. |
