I was bored and decided to outline two additional Commanders for the USF faction. Apparently everyone loves Calliope and Pershing so I tried to accompany those by fitting abilities. The CP requirements have been left blank due to obvious reasons.

The names of the Commanders are obviously irrelevant, I will simply refer to them as Hammer and Anvil.

Hammer is all about "bringing the pain". I features a new unit, the M18 Hellcat, which was very nice in vCoH and replaces the M10 and of course the Calliope version of the Sherman. The latter will be unarmed and unable to defend itself against anything. The idea behind Hammer is to compliment the overall playstyle of USF as a harassing, mobile, offensive faction. The Calliope's function is to be an indirect blob counter while the M18 will even surpass the M10 while being a bit more expensive. It features a nice passive ability tho:

X CP - Assault Engineer Squad

X CP - M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer (replacing M10) - faster, higher penetration, Special Ability (Passive): Has a chance to keep at least one member of the weapon crew alive after the vehicle has been destroyed, preserving veterancy

X CP - Sherman CalliOPe

X CP - P-47 Rocket Strike


Anvil however is meant to focus more on the defense. It features on-demand anti-tank options and the great anti-infantry artillery. The last part of course will be the M26 Pershing call-in. Being essentially a lighter and faster version of the KT, the Pershing should be able to satisfy the cries for a late game armor option.

Stg's were reserved for panzergrens IRL wouldnt make sense for volks to have them...

1 Lmg34 however...

How about giving Sturmpios an AI package upgrade for X munitions equivalent to the AT package for Volks? Could increase squad size to 5 and give them a received accuracy buff. This could make them more durable in late game while promoting them to a mobile frontline force with CQC properties OKW definitely lacks.

When 'Muricans buy a tier, they get an infantry unit of an officer corresponding to that tier after the tier is built, with all of the unit's advantages and the disadvantage of having the unit's pop immediately forced onto you for getting the tier.

Is that really that much of a deal tho?

To put it in perspective, it costs more than a Squad of Ostruppen while having half as much DPS.

Did it ever occur to you that the MG34 is not even meant to be a killing machine? OKW seems to be all about units with more straight forward purposes, strengths and weaknesses. More gimmicky ones. Those are more accentuated that those of the Ostheer faction.

The purpose of the MG34 is to give the OKW some means to shut down certain areas of the map due to suppressing enemy troops. That's why it has a big cone of fire and good suppression. If the MG34 would be as good as the MG42, it would either be baseline or the doctrines having it would be the only ones being used in the majority of 1v1 games. Plus, the faction would feel more like "Ostheer Light".

OKW is about constant pressure and flexibility instead of permanently transforming certain areas into "killzones". Constantly repositioning the MG to keep the enemy suppressed is how it should be used. If you put it in a house expecting it to wipe everything you might play the wrong faction, I think. Yes, the damage sucks, but you have awesome long range call-ins as OKW plus Sturmpios for getting in close to kill suppressed units. That's just how OKW works.

Not saying the MG34 couldn't need a change to received accuracy or to it's vet 1 ability but don't make it an MG42.
