To be honest I've never had anyone actually succeed in using a lot of REs early game. If I play as Axis I'll usually overshadow their force with more potent units easily. The only success I've had when using them is by giving them BARs because their M1A1 rifles have no damage whatsoever. Pairing the use of Volley fire between 2 squads is useful if you aren't fighting a blob. |
The Flaktrack is very effective if you keep it at maximum range from the enemy forces, it has to set up in order to fire so it's best to keep it at a distance. Only use it really if they have no AT capabilities yet and it works best against USF since riflemen can hardly touch it before getting suppressed instantly. |
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. 70% of the time I hate it but the other 30% I'm just simply content with it. It's such an inconsistent game and that's where it's frustration comes from. It's too unpredictable and some say that's a good thing but not when you don't want to have to rebuild your whole strategy every game you play. |
You're gonna be screaming at your computer 80% of the time. This game gives Resident Evil a run for its money in the frustration department. |
The expert AI also is able to multitask to a level that is unattainable to humans. They can click on everything at once and have them do everything within a second. |
If that tank is on the field, you absolutely have to kill it right away or you're going to have a problem. Aside from the squad wiping mayhem it causes, the Veterancy on it right off the bat is ridiculous. |
I feel like I lose every time I pick LT. It's like completely useless because the .50 is terrible compared to all other HMGs, I never use the M20 and the Flaktrack gets destroyed all the time by everything. I'm just gonna wait till UKF comes out and play as them. |
They usually do go Kubel because let's face it, if they can't suppress me early on, I'll walk all over them with my riflemen. |
One of the games we played showed the heavy use of JLI against both of us mixed with lots of MG34s so we ended up losing a lot of ground and surrendering. Then the other one was on Crossing in the Woods. Both Obers opened up with 2 sturms and a volks but the one on my side ended up making a Raketen to destroy my fighting position holding the VP. Then after pushing them constantly, they managed to get a Flaktrack when I accidentally went LT instead of Capt and my only option was Zooks which didn't work out. Soon enough my teammate had a Flaktrack on his side too and Falsch were being deployed out of houses to surprise attack me all within 10 minutes. We ended up surrendering again. These were the same people we played before and they used a different strategy and managed to get us yet again. Should I maybe go Infantry company and make heavy use of the M1919 and a mortar against him?

I'm struggling mainly vs OKW because their forces aren't so easily beaten by USF early on if managed well. Ostheer is very easy for me personally to deal with because early riflemen are more than enough to push their Grens around until you get BARs and Zooks on the field and by that point a Halftrack wouldn't be as effective due to your access to Zooks. |
