I haven't had any issues as USF countering Sturmpioneers in both 1s and 2s but I can't say for certain for other factions. The repair speed is the only issue I have with them but outside of that *mulling over* They're fine. Better to see duel Sturmpioneers than four volks. |
Hamlet I definitely prefer over Chateau Du luv-nest as it's more open however the munitions seem to be a wee bit far off to reliably capture compared to the cutoff. The weather effects are quite enjoyable though and I applaud that particularly part. Chateau Du luv-nest is rather a poor map due to frequent mud, red cover practically everywhere, and buildings overlooking both fuels and one overlooking souths cutoff. Rather annoying and someone could put a HMG and make it a difficult area to clear early game. |
Thank you for the advice gents. Will try them out in 1s if I can find a Ost player and not a OKW one! |
Once again the Soviets and West Germans meet on the battlefield. Trading in HMGs for snipers, the soviets seek to drain their foe of manpower and the will to fight on. Light vehicles from both sides harass and destroy targets of opportunity and generally being a nuisance. The Soviets decide to bring a varied army list to the front and keep pressure across the entire map for most of the match. Again mines play a decisive factor by both sides. |
Trying my hand some soviets this go around and against a good OKW player. Highlights include some combined arms with good mortar and ISG barrages, relocation, and counter barrages. Good skirmishing around the flanks and some aggressive early play by the OKW nearly forces the soviets to retreat. Mines also helped the day by quite a margin. Enjoy gents. |
Given I've been away for some time and there has been some changes how does one counter OST sniper mid to late game? Been playing against every OST player with them using sniper and had varying degrees of success flanking but with the new 222 buff, M20 has a very small window of opportunity. Tried Captain to counter but my opponents have the foresight to get a pak for Stuart. Admittedly I get frustrated to push OST back only for the sniper to pick off my men, poor fellows.
Any advice is appreciated. |

First serious 1v1 match I've gotten since I got back. Of course it's with OST and he's using a sniper but nevertheless it features some decent pushes and flanks with lots of back and forth during mid game but thanks to sniper play and some decent MG42 play that I insisted to run straight into the tide turns against the Americans. But it was a good match to get in the groove as they say. |
Quite an intense match this one as me and my brother try to do a match with me controlling the mouse and him the keyboard but we bloody had a, if a say so myself, epic match. Tanks litter the battlefield over the course of brutal long range to close combat fighting. Lots of dead tommies and krauts with no relent as sturmpioneers fight tooth and nail against commandos while Falls and Obers fight from afar against lmg Infantry Sections. It's also a match against old and new as the Germans old commanders fight against the recently released tommy new ones. Enjoy gents! |
maxims are assault MGs and preform well in this role; they preform less well defensively. MG42s are defensive MGs and preform well in this role; they preform less well defensively.
MG42s are defensive MGs but perform less well as defensive MGs? Too much eggnog this holiday season haha but MG42s are great defensively and the main reason I play OST instead of OKW nowadays. |
I don't think a range buff is necessary for IS-2 considering it has a high frontal armor compared to the Tiger. Just give it a slight accuracy bonus and if that's too good give it somewhat less aoe as a trade off. |
