as far as the RAF were concerned, according to wikipedia, Johnson J.E's "Wing leader" published in 1956 describes the term "rhubarb" as:
"operations when sections of fighters or fighter-bombers, taking full advantage of low cloud and poor visibility, would cross the English Channel and then drop below cloud level to search for opportunity targets such as railway locomotives and rolling stock, aircraft on the ground, enemy troops and vehicles on roads".
given such an attitude and the prevalence of aircraft like the mosquito, p47, i imagine the stance would have been similar; only the targets changed, i imagine the USAF and RAF with the exception of planned close air support operations and missions like a rhubarb, would of focused on armoured columns and logistics and other similar targets of opportunity, squadrons would have been briefed before sortie.

this one does

the internet sure has everything...
on topic...ish: i don't understand, having custom commanders, which i feel with the assets in place, is pretty much a given, sorta precludes a balance patch. which leaves... bug fixes? or i suppose for the optimist in me, a really solid optimization patch? what could relic be, "excited" about? that isn't something new. probably not worth the brain power speculating. |
they can add these SKINS in Steam store anytime they want:

they dont added because its a business decision.
i'm still bitter over the removal of our preload/preorder faceplates and skins. |
I didn't know this existed. Thank you. |
ahhhh, how i lost every game as brits.
the wounds are still fresh. |
putting mgs in building is wrong most times, anyways. even if it's the mighty Maxim!
don't i know it *headinhands* |
Probablly my best ever game as Soviets. RedClownLips had me sweating from the start. 10% cooldown reduction on Kar98k's was brutal.
I didn't really know what I was doing with the maxim or shocks. I was playing on feel, not really thinking about what to do, only that flamers and molo's on La Gleize would be powerful. I think my main strength lied in staying mobile and harrasing, but that was really exhausting. If that's what it takes to play at a really high level, I really need to work on my concentration and "multitasking" the speed and focus I give to multiple squads around the map, but for now I'm very proud of the way I played this game.
As well, in retrospect, perhaps RCL made some aggressive mistakes which although I capitalized on, it did not identify them as such, for instance, the LMG's probably left him without any ammo for fausts. Again, I really played from feel. I would like to improve my situational awareness for the future. I also could of improved my micro in the final battle near the east muni point which, if gone another way may've really put me on the back foot, but again, happy with everything else. |
What Relic was actually going for was an accurate representation of the superiority of Soviet architecture. As you can see, Relic correctly displays how the Soviets designed their buildings to defy gravity once the structural integrity is destroyed. This was very crucial for their survival in the war.

Ohhh man, I've played enough War Thunder in the lower tiers to know alllll about good soviet wood... |
I have a horrible feeling it is unfinished business.
as in, maybe everyone will forget about it x(
"The first step towards achieving this goal is to increase the transparency of a building’s structural integrity."
success!!
"Future improvements ... might include [buildings actually working]"
here's to march 31st. |
