you don't care about griefing, ok
what if no one care about your opinion ?
btw, i agree with hector that if you remove penals PTRS then soviet T2 will stay MUCH better than T1.
penals are fine right now and the whole soviet faction is pretty balanced.
The only thing which could get improved IMO is the conscript veterancy.
VET0- VET1 cons -> WEAK
VET2 cons -> ok but still a bit weak
VET3 cons -> Awesome
VET 3 cons + PPSH -> GODLIKE.
i can take down vet3 PGREN with vet3 cons ppsh, when both units are good at close range ?!
I think we should remove the received accuracy nerf the got 2 years ago (go back to model size of 1) and on the other hand, reduce slightly vet 3 received accuracy bonus.
would make them viable during the whole game instead of weak at the beggining and OP at the end.
i mean, it's certainly more valid than yours. i know balance takes precedence, but the historical context of the game is what makes it. conscripts are conscripts... people would complain like crazy if vet 3 ostruppen could handle rangers, but you want vet 3 cons to go toe-to-toe with pgrens? please.
cons do not need a buff. they scale just fine into the late game. |
Damagw of satchel AT is 240. Half is 120. Model health is 80. It still punishes penals rather badly. Even normal satchel have smaller firendly fire than 50%, ask smith if you want.
It is there to prevent griefing
don't care about griefing. add full-strength friendly fire to everything. it'll keep people from blobbing into their own mortar/calliope/katyusha barrages. |
Lots of good advice here. You're right in that you want to avoid fighting side by side 1v1s, but if you focus too much on only one thing a good team will exploit that.
Here's the approach we take:
Look at the map and opponent army makeup, discuss where to focus at start.
Discuss likely build order (if I go lt my buddy will build aec, etc).
Double check enemy base to confirm enemy location.
Report initial enemy contact and activity.
After that it's about updating each other on what you know your partner can't see... Enemy tech, at guns, snipers, commanders, etc. As your tactical focus shifts from cutoffs and fuel to vps you need to talk more to make sure you're on the same page.
Also, think about your play style and keep your initial goals reasonable. You can't expect to win everywhere, but if you win your first engagement you can then expand, harass, or support your teammate.
Finally, keep in mind that 2v2s mean less spread than 1v1s, which makes flanking more difficult and risky. |
I agree with OP. I'd rather see incremental changes that risk doing too little than drastic ones that take the game too far in the other direction. Everyone remembers the patch that buffed flame weapons to God gun status, right? Ridiculous. Let's not nerf vehicles to the point of uselessness, especially with the tendency to blob mainline infantry.
In all honesty, vehicles across the board don't do enough damage to infantry. People whine about squad wipes, but no infantryman in their right mind would stand in the open and let a .50 cal shoot at them (m20, aaht, etc), much less a panther.
Let's err on the side of too little change. The game is in a good place balance wise right now. |
i like the idea of creating commanders in recognition of tourney winners, but elite riflemen? didn't we learn that those are a horrible idea? |
does anyone else feel like the m20 nerf is too strong? it's way too vulnerable to faust spam to knock the dps of the .50 cal down that far. |
Yeah he loves to talk trash regardless if he's winning or losing... I just usually return the favor after burning down his emplacements.
Also, he skips aec and Cromwell and goes straight top comets. Every time. |
If your teammate is unranked, his elo is likely very low, so losing to very highly ranked players won't have much of an impact. High ranks gain little from beating low ranks but lose a ton if they lose to them, and vice versa. You can look up elo on Wikipedia for a more thorough explanation of how it works.
I have a sneaking suspicion that random 2v2 teams get a small elo bump vs arranged teams... |
i think the panther should have better AI. it's really pretty piss-poor, and especially with the JP4, OKW doesn't really need it, especially for its cost. when you combine that with the RNG involved in a 1v1 with a comet (totally based on pen chance), it really suffers. |
i like UC against OKW, since kiting their squads early can reduce your own bleed. it also helps if you're going to rely on commandos instead of infantry sections. i build it immediately after my first IS or vickers. |
