What is the purpose of this ability? Can anyone explain what it does specifically and its benefits. Currently, I do not see any real reason in using this ability especially for a mortar! Micro-tax avoidance. You could wait for enemy artillery to shoot and then barrage where you see then, and also queue up an attack-ground order in case that turns out to not be enough. Or you could press Counter-Barrage and micro everything else in your army instead. I'm told the accuracy of the barrage ain't half-bad: ...but I confess I haven't watched it closely enough to be sure that wasn't just a freak occurrence. In: COH2 Balance

In CoH2 it's always 100. So while pop cap requirements in CoH2 are sometimes higher, the overall pop cap was more of a problem in vCoH, especially when you were behind in a game. The pop available is also definitely far less in CoH1 than 2. I've just checked on CoH1 Angoville because I couldn't quite remember; you'll have 67 pop with your half of the map secured.
