This is a very big lategame problem, especially in larger game modes for me atm vs soviet.Even if i set up a solid defensive line,Katyusha will inevitably attack it,thats in itself is not a problem. The problem is i have no answer myself -can't answer fire by fire.If katyusha is guarded by is-2 with mines and shocks, its almost impossible to take out while consistently doing massive dmg.You can't answer with arty of ur own.Lefh really sucks, pzwerfer is both inaccessible and sucks.Between 120 mm mortar, katyusha and B4 soviet have uncounterable artillery almost if guarded with mines and is-2/shocks.
B4 atleast can be countered by moving about on recon and stuka bomb.Katyusha panther raids will fail vs smart player with mines.(getting panther is another problem).
Any suggestions?
Well you are talking about a 2 v 2+ games modes so yes Allied players would guard their valuable units with mines and IS-2s. You will probably need to pick the right commander and coordinate with your team to take down arty. Usually, when we are faced with Kats and B4s I tend to either use Falls, or Panther hit and run tactics while we are pushing together. This is all situational and you honestly, just working with your team mates and unit composition plays a key role.
1600 HPs per Pair. Hardly weak. Just not AI monsters. Like everyone fascination with Easy 8s. Sure they are good AT and have decent AI but they are hardly Shrek deterrents. Personally I prefer the regular Sherman at least it does something REALLY WELL instead of a few roles just all right...
T34/85s are by far my favorite tank in the game if you went Guards motor. They are surprisingly mediocre without Mark Vehicle though. If more people played them without that ability people would be less impressed. But even without it they are great for cost. Closest you can get to a P4 AT wise out of an Allied Medium...
Its so retarded that I would need to call in pair of T-34/85s (than spam) + marked vehicle or IS-2 to take down one KT/Panther. This is exactly why nobody favors building T3 building what so ever (or JUST for the T-70). The medium armor play before WFA was flavorful, now is just awful thanks to OberShrek blobs.
You are not gonna get "shouted down" for anything, its just that you indulge in obvious theorycrafting that is apparently not backed up by practical gameplay experience. Advice such as to go for StuGs in order to deal with an IS-2 is frankly about as bizarre as would be the recommendation to go for Su-76s to check Tigers.
As for asymetrical balance, and the Tiger being an inferior unit, I dont recall even having brought that up, but be that as it may: While the Tiger cannot stand up to the IS-2 by itself, it is not necessarily inferior to the IS-2 when considered in its entirety, it has stronger dps vs infantry and solid squadwiping potential after all, but it also is the universal OH crutch at present, and in the context of balance any units that negate its impact are indeed problematic, since in the present meta, during the early-mid game both Soviets and US, especially the latter will have had OH on the back foot.
Anyways, if you will allow me saying so, why not play all factions, and see for yourself? Just sticking to one faction has to be boring in the long run, not to mention you deprive yourself of much of the content you have paid money for? Variatio delectat and such. Plus, actually playing OH will significantly improve your Soviet play as well, I can promise you that.
Using Stugs against IS-2 was a very popular way to dealing with this unit prior to WFA. I remember Imperial Dane always recommended using Stugs due their fast reload and range, not to mention cheap cost. I actually find myself using IS-2 vs 2-3 Stugs (or worse vet stun ability) to be very lethal. 2-3 Stugs actually gave my Jackson some trouble too because of range and reload speed. Stugs in general are very cost efficient unit against SU (as OST vs Sov are balanced), USF OST is just difficult.
-USF kamikazes all his jackson and shermans and destroys most of the enemy's army...
And then 15 seconds later a Pershing comes followed by masses of BAR riflemen.
... The Tiger Ace's only manpower cost + resource income reduction is an easily abusable feature that we dont need to see more of, and we certainly dont need to see more of micro-less super popcap efficient uber tanks that roll over infantry and medium tanks and back off for repairs (and imagine a self healing duct tape wielding pershing crew. D: )
For the sake of USF, the faction kind of need a durable tank, and for the sake of the game, it does not need to be a Tiger/IS-2 copy paste rampage machine.
Might as well, Relic has added King Tiger and Jagd for lolz.
IS-2 is the last heavy armor standing for the Allied faction (ISU got nerfed to bat shit). If any adjustments are made, I think Axis heavy armor and panthers need to take a hit like Ciez said. I honestly dont think Panther has any problems fighting against IS-2. The reload speed on the IS-2 is slow, on top of that the Panther can out range and out maneuver the damn thing.
Yes the shots can be bounced off the IS-2, welcome to the pain of fighting against Axis armor.
there is in fact a difference between listening to your customers and doing whatever they tell you to. there are hundreds if not thousands of differing/contrasting opinions on the game and its state if one did all of these would probably break the game in more ways than mathematically possibl.
ah crap not again...
my point is trying to please everyone, results in pleasing no one.
Yes, community has mixed opinions but if the over all majority/trend/opinion leads to the same issue than the business should at least take a note (OKW overhaul, call ins etc).
