AT rifles (such as the PTRS) provide a small increase in AI performance; if you look at the infantry DPS on the PTRS it isn't that fantastic compared to say a regular Kar98k. AT rifles would just be a way of offering Axis a way to help deal with light armor while not encouraging people to spam the upgrade. And I said light AT mines you know like the Tank Hunter Tactics ones or the USF ones? And the increased snare range on Grens would be to compensate for the fact they cannot get an LMG42 or G43's and are locked into a soft AT role. In: COH2 Balance

Volks Light Anti Tank Package: 90 munitions upgrading the squad with 3 AT rifles and enabling the ability to lay light AT mines no truck required Grens Light Anti Tank Package: 60 munitions upgrading the squad with 2 AT rifles and enabling the ability to fire the panzerfaust at longer ranges BP 1 required. See, you would use Obers as anti infantry, you would use Volks with shrecks to deal with tanks, and they are much better than PTRS guards. So you can only compare Obers vs Guards in the AI department. Except that's not how that works, units don't work in a vacuum. Guards can preform light AT while offering help versus medium armor while doing less but still significant AI damage. For the price you pay for them you can get a lot of use out of them. Obers don't have a point to them outside of just shooting enemy infantry and the only utility they offer is in booby trap point. Obers are simply inefficient for what you pay for, just a simple reinforcement time/cost reduction like Sturms got would be enough. In: COH2 Balance

PTRS's aren't for DPS they are for packing a huge spike of damage right at the beginning of combat. What you just posted supports my statement: . So the statement that they are only marginally better in the AI category is true, they have much less utility and bleed much harder. They can shoot and kill razor wire, stave off light vehicles, and slow down tanks to help other AT options deal with them. They ooze utility while still retaining good performance against enemy infantry while not being forced to spend 2/3'rds of their life span reinforcing. Not to sound rude but you seem to try and fact check everything I say almost exclusively and it's uh, kind of weird. In: COH2 Balance

As it stands a Soviet player can decide not to tech up and use other strategies. If you make them sink another tanks worth of fuel in tech cost than a number of possible options are lost. Stop trying to counter SU76 with tanks, long and short of it. The barrage is a nice bonus to the unit but it is only able to decrew paks with lucky shots. With more light vehicle play plan on getting a HT and recrewing paks quickly if you lose one. Paks are extremely dangerous for SU76's. A single bit of poor pathing and they are gone. As OKW this is even easier. Get JP (or JT), puma, or a couple of rakentens. Mix in some shreked volks to really get nasty. Soviet T3 is quite good, if anything needs to be done it is just a slight fuel increase to delay their appearance until slightly later. Why would a minor nerf to the SU-76 reduce Soviet options? Because right now the SU-76 just dominates everything else Soviets can build because it's incredibly efficient for it's price and it can fulfill multiple rolls. Soviets SHOULD NOT have the option to refuse to tech up at all; the whole reason behind call in meta being killed was that it allowed people to refuse to invest or risk anything but still get rewarded. OKW can't refuse to tech, USF can only with 1 doctrine, and Ost can't refuse to tech either (again only 1 doctrine really enables no teching) so why should Soviets magically have the privilege of being able to refuse to tech? The SU-76 just needs a minor change such as a reduction in pen so it can't slap around heavies easily and or a reduction to 50 range to give the SU-85 some sort of reason to be built. I don't see why people are so attached to it outside of bitterness about the days it was once useless. In: COH2 Balance

So it looks like Relic didn't apply the new no more routing thing to howitzers, interesting. Still not much hope again players who build their howitzers inside their base/just outside. What weapons are you testing it with? And have you tried recrewing them and then seeing if they die without a dead crew? EDIT: I ask because recrewing mechanics are wonky, although I guess if they die regardless of crew health that's nice if you can get at them to shoot at In: COH2 Balance
