The Panther has worse turning and acceleration. But the Panther is meant to hunt enemy tanks and kill them in a slug fest, not to do a massive amount of damage in a single shot and moonwalk out. Ostheer tanks already have trouble enough dealing with the insane amount of allied mediums that hit the field by the time you get your own out why should extremely expensive and high investment tanks like the Panther be fragile or slow when that's the literal opposite of how they were designed. Your mentioned buff or current situation, the stug and panzer iv are very identical - one has no turret but a little more range (and still would have less health) and one actually has a turret, costs a bit more, and is great for combat against most medium tanks and infantry - granted zero jacksons are around. If someone considered getting Ost T3, they would still get panzer IV's 100% of the time as it is the better of the two. For what reason would i get a stug? Anyone get a stug? The machine gun is its AI The StuG being able to tank on infantry and armor like the PIV but lacking a turret would make it function like an actual assault gun which is supposed to attack enemy armor and entrenched infantry. You would get a PIV if you need more moble AI and AT. For instance I would want a StuG if I'm attacking an enemies fortified position, but a PIV If I need to support a more mobile force. But regardless more than the StuG in T3 needs a buff, the PIV and Ostwind are both to fragile in a game were the Jackson exists. In: COH2 Gameplay

You know how much of an insanely massive investment T4 is for Ostheer? I see your point with the OKW Panther but even that it's a single Panther, two t34/76's can kill it. A single engine crit and a AT gun can kill it. The Panther isn't some all things proof tank, it's very weak to infantry based AT, it just excels against enemy armor. gameplay should come first, historical accuracy second. if you look at ost t3, youll see panzer 4 - generalist medium tank, ostwind - anti-infantry anti-air medium tank, stug - not so good at either anti infantry or anti-tank. it makes sense to give ost t3 a dedicated tank destroyer. Agreed, but it make sense given the nature of the StuG for it to be good at AT and AI, the fact it doesn't have a turret means that you can always flank it with a tank or infantry unit. On top of that a simple buff to to the frontal armor and a tad more health and you have a perfect tank to round out T3. (The Ostwind should have more armor and the PIV should have more health). I still don't see a reason for not bringing the Panzerwerfer back to T3, especially since allied indirect spam is very much part of the meta right now. In: COH2 Gameplay

Its not Trois points where you have straight roads. On such maps Jackson can do a garden vs Jadgpanzer. How 6 bouncing shells in a row is L2P issue? I guess you have secret way so your Jackson penetrates all the time. I dont claim it sucks. I claim its damn fragile and one step to much means death. Jackson has no defensive ability. Why Tiger or Panther have abilities to escape? Or Puma? But Jackson does not? It should since it wont forgive you any misteake. Panther or Tiger will forgive many misteakes. M8 can work wonders but 3mins later there is a Panther. The Tiger and Panther have means to escape because they are meant so slug it out with tanks, the Jackson is supposed to stay far behind the lines and pump out large amounts of damage onto enemy armor. The Jackson is already a very mobile tank allowing it to easily escape enemy armor. 240 damage, a turret, and 60 range make for a extremely effective tank destroyer. It basically makes all medium armor useless. In: COH2 Balance

Might as well have an su-100 with slightly more pen and armor than the su-85 (in which i find little point for it to exist) The Stug was the most effective German tank of WW2, yet in CoH2 its rarely seen (because of its redundancy and crappiness). It was mainly used as a tank destroyer (statistics greatly support that), but it tries to be good at attacking infantry while marginally threatening medium tanks, but it does not seem to be good at both, and we can easily see how the same route went for the su-76. Ostheer lacks a cheaper stock tank that can actually combat other tanks at range without being blown to bits. Panther is only an endgame solution. It has the same gun as the elefant, but less range and accuracy. Probably with a faster reload and worse armor, there package and ship. The SU-100 should also be in the game, you make an excellent point. And I agree the StuG should get a nice buff so It can do what it's supposed to to, be an assault gun that is effective against infantry and tanks but lack a turret. The StuG, PIV, and Ostwind getting a buff would go a long way towards making Ostheer T3 much more viable, also bring the Pwerf back to T3. In: COH2 Gameplay

Eh, not in game. The T series is far more generalist and the Sherman is just a glorified support weapons platform, same goes for the heavies. The Panther is really the only Tank Hunter in the game in function. In: COH2 Balance
