Since I know you're a little*... mentally incapacitated I will try to make it as simple as it can possibly be so even you may have a solid chance at comprehension:
Balance is not the same as game mechanic just like apples are not oranges.
Bad balance can be a source of bad mechanic, but not the other way around.
Comparing or even using that as analogy is simply stupid.
Game mechanics and balance are totally inseparable, balance comes from game mechanics, not the other way around. Your putting the cart before the horse.
The suppression mechanic is poorly designed because heavy machine guns like the MG42, Maxim, and .50 cal suppressed infantry by keeping them in cover to avoid being chewed to shreds. This could be 100% the case with out the adding of a shitty mechanic by simply making infantry who decide to stand in front of MG's like dodo's die very fast.
Were does the suppression come in? It comes in by making it so your more likely to move cover to cover to avoid being chewed apart instead of a forced artificial mechanic.
*vast understatement

Last time I checked I was a content producer and I wasn't criticising Relic
Obviously that means I'm not a true fan then
Well you sure do love to play down peoples legitimate concerns when they are being 100% reasonable about their distaste for Relics actions.
The thing is that you accuse legit content producers of hating Relic and always being to negative when they are criticizing Relic because they want the game to get better.
When you love someone you are honest to them, you don't bullshit them. You think Siberian, CieZ, Barton and all the other content producers and community organizers criticize Relic because they hate Relic and hate the game? No, they want the game to get better and part of that is being 100% honest in your appraisal of things.
I don't think it is coincidence that we are getting this just before the patch, so that the patch will include things that would be affected.
And really, I don't see any evidence of "cracking down", I see a notification of the terms of use - which as Somen has noticed is usually something you hide in the update and that no ne actually reads.
Apart from that the only people getting upset about this are the same people who are upset about everything
The people who actually care about this game are the ones who get most upset with Relic, hope this helps.
Hey Alex the Panther does 160 a SHOT! It must kill tanks as fast as a Easy 8 can!
Oh wait its balanced by its RELOAD please stop with the 240 shot argument. Poor poor 640HP mediums die in 17.4 seconds if every shot was a hit and Pen!
BUT WAIT WHATS THIS? An SU85 can kill them in 16.8! GASP! SU85 OP please nerf. It too must be doing 240 a shot...
So yes please increase its Pen and decrease its damage per shot it would make Alex so happy buuuut increase its reload to that of an SU85 thanks appreciate it....Because it would be so much worse without 240 a shot!
Edit: A Sturmtiger does 640 a SHOT IT MUST BE OP!!
Except the SU-85 doesn't have a turret, or the best accuracy on the move of any TD in the game, and it's armor is still paper thin.
TD's come with trade offs, you can't just have a 200+ damage TD that scoots around the map fast as anything else while also having good penetration.
What the Jackson needs right now is a reduction to 160 damage, and a big increase in ROF so it does better DPS but less Alpha. Also more shots = more chances top penetrate heavy tanks.
I would like to see something in the middle. Keep 60 range (cause it's damn fragile), lower DMG to 200 (so it will still remain damage puncher but it will make Ost T3 avaible) and increase penetration to 220/200/180
This would make it far, far better than both the JPIV and the SU-85, what exactly would be the point of those tanks existing when they are both more expensive than a Jackson or equal in cost?
Change veterancy for rifles, buff Jackson, nerf howitzer cost, buff survavility of 50 cal crew, buff stuart, buff bazookas and do something with Cpt tier.
They found Alex card a while back, it shows he a rather below average player. So i would suggest he use them more often to get a feel for them.
Mechanized is one of my most used Ost doctrines, but HT Pgrens are just a waste of fuel in most cases, when your facing an enemy with AT nades like a con spammer. Versus support weapon spam it's kinda good.
It allows you to skip T2 (get PzGrens call in & upgrade them with schrecks) for that MVGame StugE spam into Tiger. Saw Quentin doing that against Barton during Star Crossed Cup.
Which leaves you with no Pak40, just because Quentin can do it doesn't mean every player can do it.
Except they are not.
They need a second more to get to top speed and their top speed is not much slower at all then mediums top speed, which means its not possible to reliably flank if you aren't going around the map already.
Play less 4v4s and you might actually get what is going on in competitive modes.
I play 2's more than any other mode in the game. But all heavies have at least 1 less top speed or more than mediums. The Tiger, and KT are the slowest non-specialized heavies in the game. Really the only issue relating to speed is Blitz and Overdrive.
Not really. Even when flanked, their high rear armour means it's ridiculously difficult for non-doctrinal mediums to do damage. And said heavy tanks, if they even can get their turret facing the target can then rotate as fast as most mediums can circle strafe.
Look at P4s vs IS-2 sor T-34-76s vs KTs. They have extreme difficulty even punching through the rear armour at point-blank.
The P4 versus the IS2's rear armor isn't as bad as 76's versus the KT's rear armor. But ultimately the problem with Heavy tanks is that they are to cheap for how well they preform.
The only heavy tank that is appropriately priced is the KT, because you have to tech for it and there is a reduced fuel income. If all the other heavies followed the same model you would see a lot more mediums because heavies wouldn't be cheaper than mediums due to teching.
P4's cost more than a IS2, but the KT costs as much as several T34/76's.
