Hell no. How many games you played 2vs2 as soviet this patch?
Several with my AT's, but Iv been focusing on improving my rank for OKW and Ost in randoms. Right now Soviets have access to very powerful artillery on top of a excellent stock army (minus 1 or 2 units). Like it's an auto win for Soviets if they are facing double OKW or OKW + Ost without a howitzer counter.
Outside of howitzers being retardly broken due to lack of counters and M5/T3 shittery I don't really think anything about Soviets is OP, strong, but not OP.
Does anyone know why that is? It seems kinda random to me for one faction to have more vulnerable weapons teams than everyone else.
Every faction has +25% more received accuracy on weapon crews. Now actually when you recrew something it no longer gets that and takes the received accuracy stats of the squad that crews it.
I am very much of the opinion it's a dumb mechanic on MG's.
But this is a real damned if you/don't for Relic. Some people want their troops to seek cover, even if it means moving from the spot they were sent to. Other people would rather they obeyed orders precisely, and are willing to accept a few losses as the price of control.
In many respects this mirrors the argument over RNG. Is the game better when its crisp, precise and even deterministic, or is it enhanced by a bit of chaos and unpredictability?
ETA: on the issue of troops clipping into each other, I suspect this is deliberate. Because when units are not allowed to occupy the same space, it can produce other problems: frex, getting jammed up on each other when trying to enter or exit a building. The same applies to vehicles, you quite often see friendly vehicles drive right through each other, because this minimises traffic jams.
Except making cars warp through each other is a lazy way of fixing traffic jams. Better pathfinding is a sorely needed thing on it's own but troops being able to stand or exist inside of on another is dumb as hell because it leads to stupid shit like your riflemen exiting a building and getting wiped by a single mortar shell because they came out the door all standing inside one another.
I think people forget how tough spacing is. "Fix it" and we go back to units not taking cover properly, which is the original reason we have tight squad spacing now.
There are actually squads in the game (paratroopers for example) that can still get in cover while having better spacing out in the open. Also units "seeking" cover when told to move places also doesn't help.
I don't care if it causes problems getting into cover but my Volks should not constantly warp inside of one another.
The person who said winter maps look bad is right, the only good looking winter map is Bystra Voyda and well theirs other reasons I never want to play that awful map lol.
Also squad clumping makes American support weapon teams very vulnerable. The micro tax is much higher than other grenades and I think this unfair. Rifle grenades need to better transmit their purpose and firing.
How about instead of insulting people, we actually try to have a discussion?
They actually changed MG teams (of every faction) to use a delta formation to help guard against 1 shot squad wipes. Clumping causes issues because it makes 5-6 men squads as vulnerable as 4 man squads (although it's harder to clump 5 and 6 man squads than it is 4).
USF and OKW weapon teams should be bumped up to 5 men and MG's in general should not have received accuracy.
Your not alone. Every game Iv lost since the new patch (except for 1 or 2) has been due to getting stuck with double OKW or an Ostheer player who lacked a howitzer counter
Nice cast Sotko! I do always enjoy your casts, specially as a non native english speaker.
Alex, did you kill a goat before the match in favor to RNG? Because that luck with Ostrupen troops was... no words.
That's my entire strategy and he played right into it. If you noticed I never teched beyond T2 and just relied on using my call in units (Puma's and CPIV) while my enemy spent time teching to get his shit out.
I just bled him dry with cheap infantry and vehicles, that's how I won my 1v1's. Sure I may be down a few hundred VP but I outnumber my opponent's army 2 or 3 to 1.
