CoH ![:O :O](/images/Smileys/ohmy.gif) had the saddest excuse for balance ever seen. Oh you start the game with jesus terminators? The game was pretty comical because they didn't have to limit themselves to realistic or balanced standards like Coh1 and 2, but the game was never going to work. |
I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you're saying. The idea of Vehicle detection isn't bad. It's not, however, worth 60 munitions and 4 command points. To put it into perspective, at 4CP with the partisan tactics commander, you can reveal the entire map for 50 munitions. How does 60 munitions for a WORSE ability make sense?
This sort of thing frequently comes up in balance discussions, but have people considered that abilities/units are balanced within the faction they exist in, rather purely objectively? Whether you think this is a good or bad idea, doesn't it seem plausible for how relic balanced the game? |
I know you said you're play OST, but don't assault nades or whatever the name is from special ops and salvage okw docs wreck buildings? They're only 10 muni and usually take out medium buildings in 1 go. Maybe this would work if your teammate could try one of those. |
Really like the casts. I think focusing primarily on the strategy behind the play ("he should do X to push his advantage", "he's doing X because....") are a good way to set yourself apart from other casters. Obviously you want to focus on play-by-play action to make it interesting/fill time, but in-depth strategic analysis provides great value. |
pathfinders dont have a chance to crit. they execute soldiers with less than 40 hp. Most useless concept of sniping ever as a soldier with 40 hp was about to just be killed by any old small arms fire.
i wish pathfinders atleast had an aimed shot ability like the brits had in coh1.
You do realize that units only have 80 hp per man, right? A model being half health is not just 1 bullet away from dying. It's an extremely powerful passive they have.

FYI pathfinders have 2 sniper rifles that insta kill one model that has <40% hp (i think?) and two standard rifles so giving pathfinders 2x BARs to boost damage and then finish the rest with sniper rifles is a good idea, IMO they might become better than obers at some point. Thank you Relic for this great feature ![:snfBarton: :snfBarton:](/images/Smileys/snfbarton.png)
I always wondered how their sniping works. So what you're saying is that they insta-kill any squad members under 40% hp? |
These types of threads are always so productive. Either quit silently or engage in balance discussions. Whining to random people on the internet is dumb... |
Pretty common when my friends and I play team games. We're between lvl 40-90 and face almost entirely high prestige 1 and above. It's kind of annoying but at the same time levels don't always equal skill. We are plenty of high level people who are frankly terrible. |
I know bulletins aren't the end of the world, but it might help to have something more useful than mortar vet and guards call-in cooldown. The mine build speed is probably fine but it can't hurt to have bulletins for useful units like conscripts, etc. |
my main gripe is this : The panzershreck wielding volksgrenadier it can reliably counter it's counter. A tank. At max range, meaning unless you are actively microing a tank (easy enough to do, but requires your full attention) you will not be able to use it effectively.
2 shreks in that entire blob at almost 20 minutes into the game. A sherman with HE (heck you could probably have 2 or so by that time) would absolutely wreck that. If that's not enough you could also go the m8 howie route, which does extremely well versus clumped troops. With the threat of insta-gibbing you can apply some nice pressure. |
