Pretty rare you are going to behind a Sturmtiger, that or a player has made a very poor decision on its behalf. Where's the AVRE turret can be turned elsewhere due to infantry when you are moving into position. Honestly I don't see how a 3 point difference means so much?
HP down to KV1 sorta leve, manual reload, what beyond that would be an issue? The damage range and Pen certainly are not the issue.
But that the neat part about this thread, two videos of damaged tanks dying as allied tanks would have to the Sturm. If it's the damage and pen bothering people here, then why not discuss the very principle of these units. And despite one opinion I'm sure most people would find the AVRE is being used to perform the same tricks as the Sturm, both videos show that in fact.
I think the very principle of the nuke tanks is a downer. But if one is ok and one is not, that pretty narrow minded. |
The AVRE turret turns to engage with its coax mg ordered or not. it is not fixed forward. If it was that would be one more of many similarities to the ST. |
If the turret is completely the wrong direction it will not be 2 seconds to fire, and you left out a pretty massive stat. |
Funny he also left out unless the turret is pointing the correct direction it also takes far longer than 2 seconds, don't try to be Cruzz unless you are going to present straight up facts for both. |
So reduce the AVRE to the approximate stars of Sturm HP and Armor give it manual reload, leave the damage. With that in place pretty difficult argument to change much else. A ~65% HP IS 152 would have suffered the same fate to the Sturm. I hope Axis players are ready, as how do you argue that the AVRE needs a damage reduction while defending the Sturm, especially once the HP comes down which is pretty inevitable. |
Alex, So the solution to everyone being annoyed at being unable to chase down the Churchill due to it HP isn't to make its health equal to the Sturm which is already hard enough to chase down; but to use this opportunity to buff it?
At 1000 Pen 45 range, and already instant killing tanks, and now it should immobilize? Lets just fix the ARVE to the HP and Armor of sane proportions as the Sturm is in a very happy place right now.

So again, if the ARVE had its HP come down to the Sturms level, what would be the reason to change its damage or Pen, which is 150. Change the HP and armor and it will most certainly need to reverse, which is what it should be doing between shots.
So beyond that it would have less range, hell ad a manual reload if you want. But beyond its HP and Armor stats and a reload what is the Alex solution? |
AVRE and Sturm are performing the exact same role. Fundamental difference? Drive forward, nuke, reverse. Same thing. You aren't going to get any more than HP and armour stat arguments going when the Sturm has 1000 pen more range more AOE.
If the ARVE had the same HP and Armor as the Sturm tomorrow what more argument is there? Perhaps manual reload but again it doesn't have the same range. And we don't want copy paste stuff right? |
