I would say that rifle guards are better than airborne ones, in terms of the LMG department.
However the SMG upgrade gave them an upgrade that gave them amazing damage at close range, which i loved using. Then they decided to give them "more variety" (as stated in the patch notes) and REMOVED the ability, really fucking stupid. Only thing OP wants to hear is; "Maxims suck and should get buffs". Really no point in discussing this.
When I use Maxims they always seem to work, it's all about positioning, keeping the arc-cone out of the FOW and ofcourse pure RNG.

in addition, you can convert the AEC once the lv phase is over to get a bit more usefulness out of a unit that would otherwise fall off hard in the lategame. and that is instead of having to call in yet another unit eating up valuable popcap.
you'd also lose a lot of flexibility in case, for whatever reason, you don't have an AEC at the time or, again for whatever reason want to convert any other tank into a command vehicle (you normally wouldn't unless the AEC died).
so all in all you wouldn't gain anything from the proposed change except for fancy visuals - paid for with a big net nerf for the ability itself. a change for the sake of changing and definitely not worth it in my opinion.
the AEC has a vehicle stun ability that has a large range so it becoming practically useless once converted is basically nullified, and your infantry become extremely potent because of the aura |

it does not fit in line with other bombing strikes and strafes in this regard, there is not much else to be really said.
The audio que actually starting takes around 3 to 4 seconds to play, which means you're going to have to react FAST to avoid team weapon deaths, even then, you have absolutely no idea where it's ACTUALLY landing, i have witnessed my ally losing several squads because this ability was thrown on the retreat path instead of frontline, funny to witness, but still. |

What if it's zooka USF or AT OKW will you do it? No because you will be wiped without an assurance of killing it.
Playing Clown car on large maps there's no penalty of playing careless just dive and dive if there are any light armor just build penals. Not to mention these Penals melts an established MG too.

Do you have to attack ground with the pak43 or does it just auto attack through the world? It kind of sounds like it's just auto attacking through the world. It would explain how I've been nailed through buildings and hills a few times.
Funny thing, I tried using the scott barrage on a pak43 from max distance. You guys aren't going to believe this, but that anti-tank gun nailed my artillery unit at max range! Must be rng or l2p, because artillery is supposed to hard counter an atgun, we all know that.
Axis have little trouble taking out 17lb too. I've watched the standard response, which works great. OKW just uses 2 leig. Ost uses mortar and/or pwerfer. A few times I've even seen ost use a flammenht with good micro. The british emplacements were already nerfed quite a bit, since we all had ptsd from coh1 nightmare sim city games.
the pak-43 auto attacks through the world, if there is a tank in the arc of fire, it will hit it regardless of how much terrain separates them. I think that the M8 just falls into the arc. |
