Really? The REs for me drop like flies when they try to advance on the enemy. And when they stay put, they just get out-DPS'ed by everything else on the battlefield. And Fighing Position, as stated before, are built like a house of straw and, unless the RE is Vet 2 with 5 men, will get 1-shotted by ANY explosive if it lands inside of the position.
Ive had them fight in a short range from a ambulance and a fighting hole, I put a squad in the hole with the MG upgrade. My two other squads engage the enemy while my 4th swaps in with hurt squads, Once they reach vet 2 they can hold there own. |
What are you talking about? I use them instead of Riflemen all the time and end up winning games. They are great at holding the line and I dont even spend mun on getting them BARs or anything, just save it for the fighting pits to protect the ground you have taken. I tend to use four with the LT and Capt and they do there job.
There fine, if you want to get more out of them, pry to the RNG god from the stupid warspoil system that you get the bulletin for them.

Honestly, instead of nerfing anything to the Pak40, why not beef up the other AT guns and give them one thing that would set it apart from the Pak. Like make the Zis make up for its pen and small cone with a really good ROF, make the 57 pen more with a bit less damage.
Oh, the panzershreck on wheels, I don't know what you guys are talking about that it sucks, I find it a god-sent when playing as Russia with heavy conscripts. High amount of serviceability and you can place it in a building and it pretty much defends itself from enemy armor? Yes please, I would take that over the pak any day of the week. |
Nah, it needs to go. Even Blizzard was willing to pull valkries from SC1 even though it made it onto promotional art because the speed boost it originally had was incredibly cheesy.
Blitzkrieg is the new "Fire Up" except where COH1 was largely balanced around it and punished lazy usage, there's no such mechanism in COH2. If your armor gets beat up from a fight but lives there's no associated repair cost besides the fact that pioneers have to babysit it, and with German armor being both the most durable in the game and possessing- by far- the most escape mechanics, this is actually quite easy to do. And the range advantage is also worth stating because you can expect your first 2 rounds to be wasted due to a lack of fire controls on tanks- your tank is going to shoot regardless as soon as the Panther is in sight and wont give a shit if it's moving or not.
Never mind that neither the Panther nor the Tiger were "blitzkrieg" tanks, and the Germans weren't engaging in offensive operations where such tactics would happen in '44.

Just remember, just because OKW can rush a suppressing unit to your base and lock you down in your home sector for a good part of the elary game gaining lots of ground and resources doesn't mean you can go on the forums and ask for it to be nerfed.
Because for all Axis fanboy magic there solution for dealing with there own units is to "Flank It".
"Flank it" is apparently the counter to everything Axis has, according to Axis fanboys.
So when in doubt: Flank it. Flank it right into there vet-5 volk-shreck-blobs. |
Depends if the commander you pick has a upgrade/skill for cons, if they do (Like PPSH)then yes, get all three. If not, just get medics.

Me and my two friends, Lastcultist and Bluefalcon, kicking some Axis tail during a night of gaming. Nice bit was being called lazy by the random who was with us, while we did everything we could to hold mid/bottom and he lost top many times. |
Honestly? I just slowly gather conscripts with moly and AT grenade upgrade, get the AT rifles, get a half-track and push them back with some T-70/T-34 support.
I believe this commander was great before the last patch, but now with the conscripts working in a new way it does kinda fall a bit. Just remember it gives the cons a bit more way into late-game allowing them to softly take on any target.
